Now on to more important things. With a smile, the old headmaster nodded his head. "Curse breaking is one of the most intricate and difficult branches of Runes Study," he started. "We had a couple of classes about it in the past, I removed it from the curriculum recently due to special reasons." That wasn't very important, though. "See, runes are not just used for amulets and good wishing bracelets or messages. This branch of runes is thought of as the muggle branch, they interpret the messages and what they meant for ancient cultures. For us, wizards, runes are magical. Our magical energy awakens theirs and we can use them in many more different ways..." Was he following him? "...such as curse breaking." Beam. Apology accepted, at least that was one thing he could tick off his to-do list now. It was a relief to him though, because he'd unnecessarily burdened himself with all this repentance stuff, and while he had made peace with the act of making an effort, there was no denying it still made him nervous.
Failing hadn't been as imposing an idea before, because he hadn't been trying... but now, now it was all on him.
And he was going to have a hell of a time with it, wasn't he?
A couple of things struck him immediately. That Curse Breaking was a) intricate and b) the MOST difficult... of all rune magic. It made him nervous. Anxious. But oddly determined.
He nodded to show he was listening, his brain working overtime to follow the thread of information without getting lost. Magical energy awakens theirs? The runes? Or ones own magic? The former sounded most credible to him at the minute, but he wasn't by any means ruling out the latter. Perhaps they were both correct? "So our magical energy... activates runes, like, magic manifests in runes because of us? So we can use runes to break curses as well as create them? Or change them? Strengthen or weaken them?" Was that it? He was doing his best to follow, whether or not he was on the right track was yet to be determined, but he knew there was more to runes than what he'd learned in his young four years here. "Sir... does it also include things like blood magic?" Was that what he meant also by the whole 'our magic awakens theirs'? That form of magic in line with runes to create something MORE complex than either.
