"I've not been at the top of my game this year, sir," he continued, still trying to find the words to express what he needed to get off his chest, "and so, I wanted to apologise to you because, well because I haven't been taking your subject seriously, and you deserve better than that." Yep, that was sincere of him, no?

Of course, it hadn't just been this year, it had been last year too, and perhaps even the year before.

"See, I've been thinking of what I might want to do when I leave here, and until recently I really didn't know, but I was wondering if you might know much about curse breaking? Or more specifically, what kind of runes is involved in curse breaking?" He hadn't done much research into it, but he distinctly recalled Ancient Runes being linked with the career choice.
Botros let out a relieved sigh... a little one because yes, the apology was a good option although the segue to it was a little too intense for his weary old heart. "That is alright, your coming to me to apologize makes up for it for sure." And he meant it.

Now on to more important things. With a smile, the old headmaster nodded his head. "Curse breaking is one of the most intricate and difficult branches of Runes Study," he started. "We had a couple of classes about it in the past, I removed it from the curriculum recently due to special reasons." That wasn't very important, though. "See, runes are not just used for amulets and good wishing bracelets or messages. This branch of runes is thought of as the muggle branch, they interpret the messages and what they meant for ancient cultures. For us, wizards, runes are magical. Our magical energy awakens theirs and we can use them in many more different ways..." Was he following him? "...such as curse breaking." Beam.

Botros was up on one of the floating ladders, inspecting a line of books on this part of the bookshelves when the knock was heard. He waved his wand to allow them in and called out, "Up here!"
