There was no way the Head Boy would get him now and not when Davie told him how gullible he was. "Oh most definitely, I agree, I can give you all my free times and we can work at it until it's perfect. Boy, I bet Professor's Baxter and York will be happier for it. You're a real card Mr. Zander, Sir." Perfectly wide and innocent brown eyes looked up at him as if in great admiration.
Naturally, if the boy provided Flamsteed with a schedule he'd have to show up but THAT part wouldn't be a problem. "And I couldn't agree more about starting immediately. See, I'm free most nights, right after dinner but I'm also free right now and would be ever so grateful to see you cast more of your amazing magic." Blaise sat forward in his seat looking as eager as an 11 year old could. "It was absolutely amazing how you closed the door without even speaking. Can you do anything else non-verbally?"
Yes? Zander Adair did think for even a moment that his plan would work, thanks. He thought it for MORE than a moment. In fact, he was STILL thinking it. Zander was going to pull this off, okay? He was going to finally make it all up to Flamsteed. It's what the past two years had been all about. All lead up to this moment. His destiny. But Merlin, Blaise was really hard to get through to. No wonder the kid ended up a Gryffindor sort. "Perfect," he grinned, deciding stupidly to take the flattery. But he still didn't buy it. He knew how this kind of stuff worked. It's what he had been doing to Moxley since day one. Flattery would not change things. "Professor Baxter and York will definitely be glad to hear that you're not giving up, bet they'll be impressed with you." Or something along those lines. Eh.
Wait, what? Blaise wanted to start... Right now?
This made Zander very suspicious, but the Gryffindor kept the smile and nodded anyways. Ahem. Man, what Zander would give to know what was gong on in that little head. His smile only faltered when Blaised mentioned nonverbals. Uh. See actually, the door closing was literally the one thing he had been able to do all term. Of course he'd gotten the nonverbal thing a few times, but never consistent and never-- Wait. "Errr thanks, I've been working on some stuff, nothing too great yet..." he trailed off realizing this was way beyond the point. LIGHTBULB! "Anyways, I just realized... You're a writer, right? Have you ever used invisible ink?" He slipped his hand into his bag, reaching around inside it to find something very specific. Why hadn't he remembered this before?!
