Death by christmas tree on the other hand...
Well, that was nothing but embarrassing. Damien was still wriggling, trying to free himself of the sticky sap trap before the Fir could swallow him up, dissolve him or start chomping away on his flesh and bones, but the Fir was unyielding in the embrace, holding him steadfast. Perhaps, if he wiggled enough he could get enough arm room to move his hand back and grab his wand from his jean pocket and make an escape. It was his only shot; HE HAD TO SURVIVE, HE HAD... well, actually the problem was that he didn't have plans, but that didn't matter, Damien was just too young and too willful to die.
With his renewed energy and vigor, Damien just managed to free his arm, but at almost the same time who should come running in but Professor Myers! Damien had never been so pleased to see the old hippie. "Professor!!" He called out with relief, except that he was taking his damn time walking up, and even seemed... amused?
Amused??
This was no laughing matter, he was very nearly close to death and Myers was laughing away like he'd just heard some excellent joke. Damien cringed as the older man flicked his wand, expecting the tree to react to the attack but it simply gently released him. "What the hell, Professor!?" Damien asked, as Myers went on chuckling away, not at all explaining what was so funny to the young man who was covered in sap and flushed red with exertion and embarrassment.
Paul was still chuckling quite a bit at the Gryffindor fellow. This was adorable, absolutely adorable. Did Damien know he was adorable? HEHEHEH! He continued chuckling even through Damien's rude statement.
"Now now, Damien-don't make me take points away." Paul didn't do it all that often. It made him feel much too bad. And poor Damien probably thought Paul was being mean, now, so he really needed to explain himself
. "Flesh eating firs...do not eat human flesh..." he glanced around the greenhouse, looking for a shrub or tree that needed some pruning...he grabbed his wand and swiftly cut off some dead leaves from a bush, and then walked back towards the fir. It's needles began to feel Paul out, and he shoved the leaves into their midst. It began to devour the leaves in its....very plantlike way.
"The flesh it eats....is the flesh of other greenery.." he explained with a grin.
"See? You were in no real harm, m'boy! This is why I was laughing. You're a funny boy, Mr. Anderson-Belfort." He would miss him when he graduated ;__;
