Transfiguartion Homework 2 ~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Soooo, no studying with Benny tonight for reasons they'd both agreed on so Adi found himself flopping down on a comfy armchair all set to do his Transfiguration homework. For the practical part of this, he would be using the bird conjuring spell, Avis. It was one he was good at. Right now, he was sitting cross legged, his wand poised to begin. “Avis!’’ Adi pulled up his full focus and concentration. The pronunciation of the incantation in his head was clear and so was the ‘m’ like shape wand movement. So what exactly had caused the brief flash of bright red light and not birds appearing? His posture. Yep, he was all… out of form LOL. His back was bent so that he was hunched over, his neck was also the same so that his head wasn’t held high as per normal. However, at the flash, he had quickly straightened up. Like… WOAH! He hadn’t expected THAT. Thankfully he hadn’t burnt down the common room or anything. Heh. “Having the wrong posture sucks,’’ he noted to himself as he readied himself again.
This time Adi sat with proper posture. What was off this time? The wand movement. Everything was spot on except that. “Avis!’’ He did a wiggly, sloppy ‘m’ like movement and BANG! There was a flash of green light and a sound like a firecracker. This startled him which nearly made the guy leap out of the chair. Oh, looky! He had conjured something. With his heart thudding against his rib cage, he watched as a single yellow canary feather float slowly down onto his lap.
Okay, moving on! Now the Hufflepuff experimented with the pronunciation, keeping the other three factors constant. “Awiss!’’ HAHA! That sounded funny. A- wiss. Ah-wiss. A swiss. LOL. Anyway, nothing happened this time around. Whew!
Now for the last bit of experimenting which would entail no focus. “Avis!’’ The appropriate wand movement was done with the proper incantation. Oh and yes. His posture was good as well but his mind was just focused on something else- a pile of hopping chocolate frogs. There was a tiny ‘poofing’ sound from his wand and a billow of smoke engulfed him. Coughing and sputtering epically, the Hufflepuff swatted his hand to clear the substance.
When the smoke had cleared, Adi tried combining the two of the four such as proper wand movement and incantation before switching it up but of course there were no positive results. “Obviously it pays to combine those four stuff properly,’’ he muttered. Yeah, he was going to do just that. “Avis!’’ Proper posture, incantation, wand movement and focus altogether now! The results? Half a dozen canaries were flitting above his head. Hehe. Well done, Adi.
