Alrightey, time to get started on the activity.
There was no way that he could shake that memory out of his own and it was useless to try given what the activity entailed. "Is it okay that you defend first?'' Adi already knew that there would be agreeing on Benny's part but even if the boyfriend didn't want to do that, he was quite okay with switching. Regretfully, he dropped their linked hands as he stepped away. They needed some distance to do the spell casting, right? "Here goes, Benny.'' Adi's wand was raised and he traced out a line to the side followed by a flick forward with it as the incantation was said in his head. ''Persequoris!'' There went the green light going towards Benny. He momentarily forgot it wasn't the real curse but after what he had just seen in the memory... The Hufflepuff couldn't help but feel horrified as he watched the light shot at the Gryffindor, his face probably having an expression to match.
He took the smile and the returned squeeze as a good sign, the lion nodding as Adi tried to assure him that he was going to be fine. The seventh year also noticed a certain younger lion view the memory and not appear too flustered. Was she so uneffected? Benny in turn would be keeping an eye on his boyfriend and bestie both throughout the class and after to see if there was any lasting effects on what the older Hufflepuff had seen in the penseive. But for now, they were going to move on with the practice and simple hope for the best.
At the suggestion of him defending first, the Gryffindor saw no issue in it. "Sure...I can do that," he answered, slipping his wand back out into his grasp. Then as Adi moved away from him, Benny echoed the movement to give a decent amount of space between them. He took the warning to brace himself which was helpful despite the fact that he knew the green spell being used to be nothing like the dangerous and deadly spell they had been talking about. It still made him nervous and his mind was racing through options as spell was cast...wordlessly...the green light zooming towards him.
His instinct made him duck and crouch down to avoid the spell. The spell fizzling out past him. He just didn't trust any spell to create something to be used as a physical shield. And it wasn't like that was a clearly expressed response to the spell anyway. When he finally looked up, the look on Adi's face made him concerned. "Adi?" he questioned as he straightened up to his full height.
