Not just for his sake, but for her own, too.

As Sabel summarized the ways to avoid being killed by this curse, Soph kept her gaze fixed upon the floor in front of her, in a sort of daze. Half-listening, half-zoning out, just... somber. Debating. Did she want to see what was in the pensieve? No. Would the others think she was cowardly if she didn't? Probably. Would Zander go look inside? Probably not. Would it make him feel better if she didn't, too? Probably, but what if he was curious later? What if he would want her to describe it, rather than see for himself?

By the time the actual moment came when they could view the inside of the pensieve, Soph still hadn't made a decision. She'd absorbed all that the professor had said, and was considering partners... when she was suddenly on her feet, her wand still in hand, and she crossed over - not to the pensieve itself, but to Dakest nearby, and she beckoned him to lean down so she could whisper in his ear, which she proceeded to do so with a cupped hand. "I'm not scared 'n m'not a baby. But." Always a "but." "D'you think I should look?" Her specifically. If it was his memory, she didn't want to see. If it wasn't, it wouldn't bother her as much. And she knew that her asking would determine if it was his or not, because he would know why she was asking, and if he told her yes, it wasn't his, but if he advised her not to... then it WAS his, and surely he knew better than to let her in on that kind of memory, right? Because she'd worry and undoubtedly care too much about it?

Ultimately, the level of trust she had for him was so great that she knew that asking would be okay. He wouldn't laugh at her or think badly of her or make her feel bad for being hesitant. He knew her courage, her resilience, her... caring for him.

And that, right there, might be enough for him to advise her not to. Tampered with details or not.

Sabel watched as Brown approached, and was slightly surprised to find her coming to him, rather than going straight to the pensive. Craning his head down, Sabel listened to her question. He was quiet a moment before straightening and looking her in the eye.

"I cannot answer that. This, is something you must decide for yourself." He could have no part other than giving them the option, and bearing the weight of the trauma each student endured after. The rest, was up to them.

SPOILER!!: Angel

Angel now had to find a partner, maybe the Professor was up to partnering her or maybe she could find one of her friends, she wondered where Leah had been lately or where her sisters were, though surely she could find someone to work with.

His attention drifted to Valentine, relieved in most ways that she didn't appear too shaken. He considered the young girl as she wandered off to find a partner. She was okay, she looked okay.
