be curious, not judgmental

...She had gotten a SMILE out of her arch enemy, the Grey Lady? No way. This was... monumental. A little bit scary, though, because SHE WAS SMILING. AT HER. THE GREY LADY WHO HATED HER WAS SMILING AT HER.

Had Sophie Brown and her non-ladylike ways finally redeemed herself in her house ghost's eyes?

Smiiiiling brightly right back at the ghost, Soph gave a simple shrug to her response. Soph didn't know if there was any truth either, but it WAS the magical world, and she wasn't particularly inclined to believe any of this stuff as fact. The world was a very, very strange place, and answers were not always as clear-cut as they seemed. She'd decided that poltergeists were just one of life's greatest mysteries.

As the ghost went into a detailed synopsis of ghosts and poltergeists, giving a very well-described comparison and contrast of the two, Soph took a few notes, just to stay on task and not let her mind wander elsewhere. She couldn't help but wonder, though: were the other ghosts going to join them? Did Helena ask the Baron, the Friar, and Nick to join them? Were they all going to have a big ghost party right here and now? That'd be wicked cool, if so, but when Helena went along to start describing the Hufflepuff house ghost, Soph figured... no, they must not be coming. Otherwise they'd probably come right in and introduce themselves and spiel away, right? Sad.

When others chimed in with the answer, Soph gave a pensive hum, then her hand went up, too. "Miss? Doesn't he mind being called that? I mean, of all names we could call him by, Fat Friar doesn't seem all that kind of a thing to be called for centuries and centuries. Doesn't he take offense to that?" He WAS large, but really. Why not the Jovial Friar? Didn't quite have the same ring to it, but seemed a bit more appropriate.
