"I'm really, really glad. I thought it'd be nice so we can, y'know, keep in touch 'n stuff. Either when we're in opposite sides of the school or if y'need someone to talk to at four in the morning or after I've graduated. I always wanna be able to keep in touch with you 'n be here for you, 'kay? You can always count on me. I'll keep mine in my bag that I always have with me so I'll always be available." And if she didn't reply, it was 'cause she was dead or something, probably.
But Merlin. She had quite the collection of two-way mirrors now. She needed to start labeling them.
He didn't need to thank her, honestly, but she smiled and gave him a nod in reply, "Just like you." The greatest, JUST LIKE HIM. The sweeeet, sweet little baby angel.
What foods? OH YES. FOOD. "Well, we've got the finest selection of finger foods here." Ahem. "There's little sandwiches on this plate here," Roo could imagine them being whatever kind he liked, "and tea cakes here, and assorted pastries here, and biscuits here, and I dunno what this plate is, actually, but the house elves highly recommended I include it in our tea party." And, naturally, everything she was describing on their table that wasn't actually there WAS over at the other table nearby, real as ever. In case he wanted real food, but she was okay with pretending.
For now.
"Could I interest you in any, sir?" She would be happy to serve him. Guest of honor and all. Furthermore to his inability to word his appreciation for his gift, Rooney couldn't respond to anything that Miss Sophie said that would even cover how grateful he was for her generosity and her all around existence in his world now and in the future. Because that was what he was planning. And clearly so was she. You didn't give a two-way mirror to someone that you didn't want to have in your life for an extended period of time. Instead, he just smiled wide and kept the mirror clutched to him until he put it into the box to take part in their tea party.
With a softer smile, one he usually donned when listening to someone speak, Rooney looked from plate to plate on their table giving each "food item" a reaction. The little sandwiches got a gasp, the tea cakes got an enthusiastic "ooooooh" and the house elf reccomendations received an applause. "Oh, I don't know how I could even choose, Miss Sophie!!" He was just so very excited for all of these delectable delights, yummy yummy air! "I'll just have one of everything, Miss Sophie!" Because he could not POSSIBLY decide!
