COMPOST TIIIIME.

Even though they were pretty much dealing with trash here, Soph had loved working with all this compost stuff. The science of it was mega cool, honestly, and it had been fun in class to add all their own layers to it. Except for Rooney's little death scene, that wasn't much fun, but the activity ITSELF was cool. And, just like in class, Soph came today with a charm blocking her sense of smell so she wouldn't be able to smell the compost she was working with.

Super proactive of her and all.

Choosing a random crate of compost and an index card, Soph carried it to a workstation and took a seat, tugging her dragonhide gloves from her pocket and putting one on, and then the other. It helped that they'd done this kind of thing already so she was a bit... desensitized to the fact that she was about to dig through animal poop and trash.

Just another day in the life of a Hogwarts student.

Peeking into her crate, Soph squinted. How could they tell one animal's manure from the other? She should've paid better attention in class when she collected her own knarl manure, but... she DID know that this was not knarl manure. It didn't look the way her droppings had in class, so this must've been... something else. And chicken manure was probably, like... bird droppings, right? White and more liquid or something? Maybe? Ew. And this was darker, so it was probably... Abraxan manure or cow manure. Hm. Hmmmmm. She really wasn't sure of the difference in texture or anything, so... she was just gonna guess.

Text Cut: Card
Name: Sophie Brown
House: Ravenclaw
Year: Seventh

Compost Contents:
  • Abraxan manure (Nitrogen)

A good enough first guess, at least. She had a fifty-fifty shot of getting it right, and Myers probably wasn't going to judge her too severely for not knowing which poop came from which animal, was he?
