Zombie Apocalypse Team Leader ★ ★ in a crown of pepperoni and artisan cheese

If Benzi had responded, Reagan wouldn't have known...as she'd began digging in her crate once more. She was determined to find more things within her compost...because she felt desperate to get the highest marks possible, given this was her favorite subject. So, the push to do her best was strong.

Hmmmm.

Nose and eyes working overtime, she delved deeper; utilizing her spade the best she could. It wasn't that the crate was especially deep, there was just several things within the small space. And it was hard to dig down into something when things would sometimes just fall right back into place once you shoveled it out of the way. Gravity, how dare?! The deeper she did go, however, the more interesting the materials.

Take the old Witch Weekly issues, for example. There were two stuck at the bottom, and Reagan had to do a double-take. She supposed those would count as Carbon; as well as the old bits of parchment. And the...old event flyers for a House party. It was hard to tell which House, exactly, but Reagan thought Hufflepuff. They were right by the kitchens. So, it seemed to make the most sense that they'd have an obscene amount of parties! And Professor Moxley absolutely seemed like the type to encourage House togetherness. Also, the smell was more poignant towards the bottom. Not in a wet-rot type of way...but in a very Earthy sense. She supposed it had to do with the lack of food materials. Mhm.

Yay, biodegradable materials.

After almost an hour of digging - yep, she'd been sat on her bum in front of her crate for that long - Reagan concluded that her compost was Carbon heavy!...which she'd read was the best for fruits and vegetables, given that it slowed down decomposition.

SPOILER!!: Index Card

Reagan Penrose; Flora Warrior
Ravenclaw Seventh Year

Crate #13

Tea bags; various (Carbon material)
Tree twigs; various types (Carbon material)
Cedar (wood chips) (Carbon material)
Old bits of parchment (Carbon material)
Outdated event flyers; for a Hufflepuff party? (Carbon material)
Outdated Witch Weekly magazines (Carbon material)

Flower leaves; Flutterbies, various mundane flowers (Nitrogen material)
Tree trimmings; Foliage - Weeping Willow (Nitrogen material)

I have concluded that this crate is rich in Carbon.

Finally attaching her card to the front of the crate, Rea cleaned the spade before replacing it off to the side. That was it for today...because she, like her housemate who was still hard at work, had NEWTs to study for.
