The seventh year was more than just elated as he jumped on his own bed and leaning over it to pull out a small box from underneath it. He slowly lifted the top of the box off, and peered inside to take a look at the contents within it. Thank Merlin he was making some progress. Reaching into his pocket, the Gryffindor pulled out the envelope he had received from one of his brothers.
Before adding it into the box, he totaled everything up and scribbled down another number on a piece of parchment, scratching out the old number above it. Excellent. Finally making some progress here.
He grinned to himself. He'd have reached his goal in no time at all.
There was never really a time in Damien's adolescence that he hadn't been wrapped up in several emotions at once, it wasn't easy, being this in touch with your feelings all the time, probably why the Gryffindor boy was oft seeking his friends for the purpose of ether distracting himself or talking things through. It was the fate of a Cancer to always be on the weird precipice between real happiness and sadness, that's what his mother said anyway, and she was usually right.
What was bothering him today, you ask, dear reader? The young man was torn between hope and worry over a sibling that was yet to come into this world proper.
It was whirling about his head as he popped into the dorm and flopped casually onto his bed across from Zander's. ZANDER. Sitting up, Damien glanced over to the Head Boy. "Ay, what's up, Adair?" Damien greeted, grin easily slipping across his lips. Zander, THE DUDE, Mr. Blonde, as Damien had christened him back when they'd first met, he was just the dude Damien needed to see, yes, he was sure of it.
