Okay so MAYBE he was gonna have a slightly more difficult time with this shaving thing....but so what? The boy was determined to stick to his rock. What was he gonna do? Ask to borrow someone's wand then attempt a spell he didn't know? Not likely--Heeeeyyyyyyyyy!!! Now THERE was an idea.

Quick as he could, Blaise turned to the first older student he could find and in his most polite tone affordable, explained a slightly skewed version of leaving his wand in his dorm but needing help. Who knew it would be that easy? Couple flicks of a wand later and the boy now had a well shaped bow!

"Gee thanks!" He said with a wide, dimpled grin before turning to face the basket of silk. He'd only need one, yeah?

Now in a much better mood, he practically skipped on over to the basket and plucked a silk string. He could handle the fitting on his own, no problem. Just...had to....pull it all the way aaaaaannnnnnd there. Bow. Clearly he was brilliantly at this stuff. Feeling all kinds of mighty, the boy grabbed for his rock once more and very roughly began etching a name into the wood. 'Serpens' because that seemed to be doing wonders for him so far.

And now he was ready to be turned into a centaur---WAIT WHAT??

SPOILER!!: Steps
  • [/s]
  • Select a wood from the pile and shape it. Each piece of wood is approximately 6 feet in length.
  • Every piece of wood will have a natural curve, no matter how slight so listen to the wood. Place your one end wood to the ground with one hand holding it in place at the top. With your other hand, press lightly against its middle. It will swivel so that its natural belly faces you.
  • In the middle of your wood, use your wand cut two lines approximately 3 inches apart to indicate where the handle will be.
  • Using your wand, shave wood off either end of your wood until both the upper and lower limbs curve similarly to each other. You want the bow to be strongest (thickest) at the handhold.
  • Use one of the provided strands of caterpillar silk (in the woven basket behind the pile of wood) and tie it to both ends of your bow. Make sure it is taut.
  • Select a name and carve it into the handle of your bow.
