Cool...a flute. Beatrice chuckled slightly at Bentley’s entrance – head first, then body. “Hello Bently, dear.” Quote:

Maybe she could ask the house elves sometime.
She looked for the box of instruments where she'd pick out her usual harmonica, but it wasn't there. Opening her mouth to ask Professor York where they'd gone, she closed it again quickly 'cause look at that. Right in front of her face. Instruments on each desk. Heh. Okay. Norah figured it was a good day to go a little bit outside of what she normally did, so she chose a desk with an accordion on it instead of a harmonica, which she inspected thoroughly before moving on to the bowl of lollies. OH YEAH. Professor York seemed like she'd appreciate cake for breakfast, too. That was an admirable trait in anybody. Ahh and then lovely Norah entered. “Hello Norah, dear.” It was nice to see the lollies were accepted happily. Quote:

He recalled "music lessons" from first grade, where everyone had fought over the use of the triangle or the xylophone. For one, he got the triangle. Neat.
And LOLLLIES. Could he eat them? Were those jelly beans? Or Betie Botts? Either way, he took one and stuffed it in his mouth. “Hello Zeke,” she said to the next student, who seemed quite happy with his pick of table, plus the lollies. Sugar was good for concentration, wasn’t it? She rarely had to deal with the sugar crash. Quote:

She nearly frowned before shaking her head at herself and waving at her fellow mates that were already there. "Hello Professor, how are you today?" It was a lovely day, wasn't it? And music made it even better.
Selecting her usual seat she slid down onto the chair setting her bag near her feet. Awesomeness! A small drum was set in the center of her desk, no drum sticks of course since this was meant to be hit with her hands but that was all good. Hady cast a fast glance at the Professor. Had this been placed here intentionally? Who knew she could play besides Maxon? Oh well that didn't stop her from grinning.
Oh sweet heavens lollies too! She pulled the small bowl over inspecting the flavors inside, her eyes shinning when they fell upon one. The green one. Green apple to be exact. Her most favorite ever! Now. Her. Day. Was. Officially. Complete. “Oh Hady, hello. I’m lovely thank you, and yourself?” And she seemed quite happy with the instrument at her desk. Quote:

After she had some meal, the young lioness rushed to the classroom. Was she late? Was she late? Oh, hopefully she's not late!
And....... She wasn't late. Thank Merlin! "Hello, Professor B." Ava grinned to the white-haired lady Professor and tried not to laugh. Why? Because she still remembered her expression when she had to eat the gingerbread men with the toothpaste frosting that she'd put. Hehehehe. Walking to a desk, there's a bowl of small lollies on each desk. Could she take two? She just grabbed one and put it on her pocket. And cymbal too of course. BANG! And then Ava rushed in like she was already late, which got another chuckle from Beatrice. “Hello Ava,” she said, reminding herself to stay away from any baked goods the young lion might offer. And then, not expecting the BANG, Beatrice jumped a little and looked towards the sound. Well, at least the musical instruments were being used! Quote:

He wasn't exactly one who liked calling attention to himself.
As he walked into the classroom the circle of desks was still there like before. "Hello Professor York," he greeted with a small smile as he moved to find a desk to sit at. A drum was doable, though he'd save interest in the lollies for later. Perhaps there was a sour one in there somewhere. Ahh, and one of her star pupils. “Hello Benny,” she said with a nod. Quote:

Uhhhh....why was there a harmonica on his desk?.......It hadn't been one of the instruments they learned at the Academy....he didn't have to play it, did he? "Morning Professor." He mumbled, picking up a lolly and turning it over a few times. watermelon flavoured by the looks of it. Brown eyes drifted over to his cousin's stash. "Trade you this one for a blueberry." He liked those better.
Also, someone remind him why his cousin insisted on them being EARLY for this lesson. Beatrice was surprised to see the young Blaise walk through the door, but was not surprised at his obvious resentment for being there. “Hello Blaise, it’s good to see you again,” she said rather quietly, not wanting to bring any extra attention to the lad. Ohh, look at all the lollies. And there were on each desk apparently. Along with an instrument. An instrument wasn't really needed by him since he would usually sing when he needed to get Beatrice's attention. The Hufflepuff bounded off to a seat next to Benny, his hand already digging through the bowl of lollies. "Hi, Dragon!''
SWEETS RULED! Ahh the always grinning Hufflepuff prefect! An approving smile was on her face, “Hello Adi.” She loved nicknames! And this was just one of the many she had heard. Quote:

It was weird to actually sort of like transfiguration.
But it was mostly weird that they had to pick out musical instruments. "Hi Professor," he greeted her as he made his way inside looking for-- Oh. They were on the desks today? Interesting. Yeah, Zander just walked over near his usual spot and sat down. Er.... A harmonica? How the heck does this thing even work?
Weird. Transfiguration was so weird this year.
And that was the proper way to sum it up. Clearly. “Hello Zander,” Beatrice greeted the Head Boy as he made his way in. She was amused at the look on his face and showed him how to use it with her air harmonica. Holding it up to her mouth and pursing her lips. Heh, he’d get the hang of it… perhaps. Quote:

And while her skill was slowly getting somewhat better, she still struggled in most areas of the subject. Professor York was helping, however. She made Rea feel very comfortable and non-judged for her ineptitude. It made all the difference, really.
So, prancing into the classroom, a huge, warm, beaming smile firmly fitted across the Ravenclaw's face. And it just like with every Transfiguration class, as Rea prepared to sing her greeting..."Prooofessooor Yoooork, hello!"
...and yea, it wasn't sang all that well...but she triiiiied! “Ahh Reeeeeegaaaaannnnnnnn, heeelllooooooooo,” Beatrice sang to the Ravenclaw with a big smile on her face, and even a little clap! Quote:

Oh, and one more thing he always looked forward to Transfiguration lessons were the treats. Lollies! Also, maracas on his desk. Hmmm... The others had instruments too. Hmm indeed. “Owen, heeeellooooooooo dear, lovely to seeeeeee youuuuuu,” she sang in response to him, also giving him a small clap. All of these beautiful voices! Quote:

OH AND LOLLIES. "Hey Professor," he said with a smile before digging into his bowl of lollies and picking out a light blue one. Would it be cotton candy or blueberry flavor?? ONLY ONE WAY TO FIND OUT! “Hello Caleb, dear,” she greeted the Slytherin prefect, happy to see the lollies being eaten. After all, they weren’t for decoration. Quote:

As he entered the room, he heard music he didn't really like. He wasn't a fan of classical music. He would just tune it out though. He saw the professor in the front of the room and he waved to her. "Hello Professor! Thanks for the lollies.." he nodded his head toward the assortment.
When he sat down he began to go through his assorted bowl and wondered which flavor he was gonna eat. “Hello Colt, dear,” Beatrice replied. And a grin, “You’re most welcome.” Good manners. Quote:

Finding his trusted triangle, Yoongi placed his bag on the ground beside his desk and sat down. He eyed the bowl of lollies. Not that he was on a diet or anything but he had been working out for some months now and he was so used to not eating candy that he wasn’t even craving for it anymore. Not wanting to tempt himself, Yoongi pushed the bowl of lollies to the edge of the desk and placed his textbook upright on the table so that he couldn’t see it. Just a nod? Beatrice nodded back towards Yoongi, but unable to resist said “Hello Yoongi.” And… he didn’t even want the lollies? She’d have to send him to see Healer Murdoch after class, he must have been brewing some sort of illness. Quote:

Again with the circle. Did they do this so students could not sit in the back away from the kids who liked to talk a lot because farthest away from them the happier Dante was.
And why in merlin's saggy left....did he have an oboe on his desk.
Though the candy was a plus. “Hello Dante,” Beatrice greeted another one of her students. Perhaps some of them would prefer picking out their own instruments, though. Quote:

Hmm, not the violin, she'd had bad experiences with one; not the recorder, those were terrible....maybe the guitar. Gwen was learning to play a little bit, and she loved country music. Excited to know what they would do, she strummed it a few times. Her bright purple hair that she had just dyed stood out, and she was so happy to be in Transfiguration, the class she wanted to learn most. Another non-greeter? That was okay, Beatrice probably wouldn’t greet the professor when there were lollies on the desk. But Gwen got a “Hello dear,” from Beatrice anyway. “Lovely hair!” Because… well, it was. And it was Beatrice’s favourite colour. Quote:

He settled into his desk near the front and started absentmindedly playing with the lollies in his bowl, not really paying attention to them. “Hello Davie,” Beatrice said as he walked through the classroom door. He didn’t immediately eat his lollies, which of course Beatrice noticed. She hoped he was okay. Would she have to keep an eye on Davie and Yoongi? Hopefully not. Quote:

It was unsurprising that he chose to make his way toward Blaise, and another Gryffindor first year he didn't know very well. What was his name? Bradley? Whatever. Oliver grinned at the boys and took his seat.
CANDY! He took one of the lollipops out of the bunch and immediately unwrapped it. He hadn't even paused to see what flavor it was. But it tasted like blue raspberry. He'd made a good choice.
And there was an instrument, too. That wasn't as exciting, considering he couldn't eat it, but he supposed it was cool. It was a trumpet, which was pretty cool. Not that Olly knew how to play, but it couldn't be too hard to figure it out. All he had to do was blow into it. He would have tried it out right then, but he was distracted by a Gryffindor boy a few seats down from him. Not only was the boy not eating his lollipops, but he had pushed them away. "If you're not going to eat those, I can take them off your hands." He smiled angelically at the boy and kept his gaze on him. He was definitely not kidding about that offer. “Hello Olly,” Beatrice said with a big smile on her face. Nice dance moves. Yes, she spotted them. Beatrice watched Olly offering Yoongi to eat his lollies, and Beatrice was hopeful he would start to eat them but… he didn’t. He GAVE them to Olly? Who ever heard of anyone GIVING up their lollies? Beatrice swallowed and returned her gaze to the door. Quote:

Phew. She still had plenty of time judging by how many empty seats there were.
The lack of musical instruments made her pause, but then she saw that one had actually been placed on every desk. Thank Merlin, because Paulina wasn't about to start singing her answers for anyone - not even one of her favourite teachers.
Finding a seat, she was pleased to see that she winded up with a small drum. Percussion instruments had always seemed so much fun, but she had never tried out a drum before. Usually she ended up selecting something like a maraca or triangle because they were so simple to use. "Thanks for the lollies!" Because it was always polite to thank someone for giving you a treat. And it was Paulina! “Hello Paulina,” she said to the lovely Hufflepuff. Another one Beatrice was keeping an eye on, though she would be leaving at the end of the school term. She would go far. And another set of lovely manners, “You’re welcome dear.” Quote:

Angel went over to her desk, picked and instrument and then went for the candy before stopping and looking at the Professor. "Is this some sort of test?" Angel didn't want too get in trouble for eating the candy. Ahh, and the last one to grace the classroom with her presence was Angel. There were no vases near the entrance, so she was quite safe to enter. ”Hello Angel. I’m very well, thank you, and yourself?” And then a snort of laughter, “No it certainly isn’t. They’re yours.”
Beatrice stood to her full height, which wasn’t very impressive, to check the corridor and make sure no other students were rushing down to get in. Nope. Good. She closed the door and headed to her seat amongst the students, where a pair of little cymbals sat. She clanged them together, creating a soft clashing noise. And with that, the music stopped. All eyes on her for now? Good. “Hello everyone, welcome to the lesson. Please keep eating your lollies for the first part, and we will pack them away for the activity.” Not even looking at those who HADN’T yet eaten one. “My first question is what do you do to help concentrate before performing a tricky spell, or a new spell? For me, I sometimes do a little stretch, and some vocal exercises before practicing the incantation and the wand movement separately.” Now for their turn. What musical instrument would she hear first? |
