Hogwarts RPG Name:
Norah Kittredge
Seventh Year
Default Herbology HW 1 Post 2
Lil' gooz | Sarangel | Junior Dweeb

A WINK. Norah had to take a moment to look down at her compost and break into a grin, wishing she hadn't put her hair in a bun this morning so she could hide her laughter behind it. A wink. Honestly. Coming to a decision, she looked up to catch his eye and attempted a wink of her own, not caring in the slightest that it came out painfully overdramatic. She hadn't mastered that particular art yet, apparently. Clearly she needed to practice more, just like Dot had taught her to practice bum wiggles. She hadn't exactly mastered those either, but y'know. At least she'd tried.

She bent over her compost crate and pushed some more coffee and manure aside with her gloved fingers, trying and failing not to breathe too much of the smelly air. Oh man. She thought she'd get used to the smell but she really hadn't by now. It was a shame, really, 'cause otherwise she'd be having the time of her life with this assignment. She straightened for a moment to take a deep breath of (theoretically) less-potent air, before leaning closer again. The texture of the stuff under the coffee grounds was completely different, and pretty clearly leaf-shaped even if they did look like they'd been under a lot of strain. Soggy or not, they were still leaves. Norah picked one up and inspected it just to be sure, then dropped it back in again and took off her gloves to record the ingredient on her card.

She cleaned her gloves off another time, put them back on again, and repeated the process. The next ingredient she discovered was a little less broken down than the rest of them. Huh. A little bigger, too. She took one of the objects out and brushed brown stuff off of it with her thumb. Uuuuhhhh. Something fruity? It wasn't an orange peel, for sure. It was all the wrong shape for that. OOOH! An apple core. It was an apple core. Whoever had eaten this apple had done a pretty rad job of getting as much apple as possible off the core. It was impressive, really. Her dad would be proud of whoever this was. She left the core outside the crate and took her gloves off yet another time to pick up her quill and write 'apple cores' on her label card.
