So much so that she didn't do anything but listen.
Good. He shouldn't be afraid of her. She didn't WANT him to be afraid of her. "Good." Really? He didn't know they had lessons together? Where was he during these lessons? Hady laughed. "Yes! Do you sleep during them all Maxon?" She joked softly with a playful grin. Maxon watched his own fingers as he played, but when he looked back up at Hady, she was paying complete attention to him. Whoa. He faltered a little bit, the melody slipping, but he quickly got right back into it. She was close, and she was watching him carefully. He had to play well for her...
He wanted her to be impressed. He looked into her eyes and continued to play.
Smiling at her laugh, he answered, "No. Not exactly. I generally spend my time hiding the comics I'm trying to read in class." He stopped playing and took a deep breath. There was a deeper meaning behind why he preoccupied himself with a fictional world, but he couldn't... bring himself to tell her. To tell anyone about why he'd moved, why he was always worried about his mom... It made him too sad. He started playing again.
