The Gryffindor quickly relaxed when she said that him learning was possible. Thank Merlin! But he was a bit disappointed that the first thing he asked was whether or not he had done any research. Well ... yes and no. But he wanted to know specific details, how long it was doing to take if he started now, how much private instruction he could get if she was cool doing that, and so on.
"I just know that learning how to become an Animagus can be a long process, and it involves a lot of patience and understanding complex theory and stuff." Beyond that the blond honestly didn't know that much. He hadn't gotten around to getting a Ravenclaw to go to the library for him...
"But earlier this term in Potions we brewed Mutatio Animalia," he added quickly before she thought he didn't know what he was getting himself into. "So I have some experience with not being in human form." Mind you, he wasn't very impressed with having to be a rat for those few hours. Beatrice made a note that the lad seemed a bit nervous, but of course she could reason this with it WAS pretty nervewracking asking a Professor you didn't know very well about a subject as serious and intense as this.
Raising her eyebrows slightly, quite impressed, she nodded slowly. "Yes, you are one hundred percent correct there. It's why there's really not many of them out there. Many witches and wizards decide their time could perhaps be better served elsewere." Herself included. But that was really the most important thing to know, at first. Just how long the process can be, requiring great patience and understanding. Without knowing that first, the expectations just weren't realistic.
His next comment got a smile from her. "Ahh yes, I heard about that! How did you find being an animal? How long did your potion last?" |
