Naturally she was pleased with the fact he'd opted for the seat next to her so they could be at a better level. Shoulder to shoulder and everything. That was the first step. After avoiding him for so long, she was finally sitting down with him and they could......talk. Someone remind her why she was listening to Lottie again? Sitting here, this suddenly didn't seem like such a good idea anymore and the former Gryffindor had to fight the urge to get up and bolt leave.
Unfortunately, as was the case when she'd gone for a drink with Abbi, she was again going to have to go first. You think she'd be used to this by now but apparently context made all the difference. "I...think I do." Lex was sure to shift so she could proper look him in the eyes. "You do know I wasn't trying to hurt you, right?"
Someone tell her that much was obvious at least. Circe. Oh good. Well at least they weren't going to be at a Mexican stand-off. They didn't have the appropriate hat wear for something like that.
But all joking matters aside, as silent as they were, Lex's 'starting point' was a bit of a hard hitter. He was in the process of turning towards her as well, when she spoke, and abruptly stopped. Strangely, he found he could only hold her gaze for a minute, before having to look elsewhere. The floor specifically.
His brows scrunched up as he forced any mental imagry out of his head. Wasn't trying to hurt him. Rhydian mulled the words around his emotions, around what he had been trying to sort out in his head. Finally, he nodded. Slowly, but it was a nod. "I know that."
Truthfully and honestly, he did. Didn't really change the fact that it had hurt. His eyes went back up to her, and he was slightly surprised to find a sincere smile on his lips, as faint as it was. "You're a free spirit." He shrugged. "It's one of the things I like about you."
Too soon? Hopefully not.
