Maggie had expected a shield spell from Hady.
What she had NOT expected was to have the exploding crackers come flying right back at herself. So with a surprised yelp Maggie jumped back, trying to get out of the way. Which mooooostly worked only one of the little things exploded RIGHT IN HER FACE! IN HER PRECIOUS FACE!! HOW DARE THEY?!?!?!?!??!?!
No, it didn't hurt THAT badly but she could still feel her cheek burning from the small explosion.
OUCH!
As for the rest of the crackers, "Fumos!" Maggie managed to shroud them both in dark smoke, and by doing so successfully got rid of both the crackers and the spell Hady had sent her way. Which didn't mean that she hadn't HEARD what the other girl had been trying to do to her. SLUGS? Seriously? It didn't get any more gross than that. Ew.
Using the few seconds she'd bought with that smoke spell wisely, Maggie quietly – as quietly as she could – moved closer to Hady, or rather to her side. That was her plan. To surprise her from somewhere she wouldn't expect, once the smoke had cleared. Or WAS cleared.
Still moving.....still moving....
"Finite!" Maggie got rid of the remainder of the smoke and quickly, once she'd taken proper aim at Hady followed it up with, "Locomotor Mortis!" Now, hopefully her reaction time had been less than Hady's. SPOILER!!: Points Tracker Spells Cast: - Fumos: Produces a cloud of dark grey smoke.
