Hady knew things. Sometimes even before others knew them. However what was said next she HADN'T known. She hadn't even expected it. Yeah she knew about the snogging, the detention and even had spoken to Maggie about it all. Only the girl had said it was NOTHING. Clearly that had been a lie. If it had meant nothing then she wouldn't be dating Zeke. Unless she was using him for some reason...but Hady didn't think she was.
Still keeping her hazel eyes locked with her friends she made no move to say or do anything for a moment simply digesting the news. Did she have to say anything? She wasn't entirely sure how she felt about it. It wasn't her choice and she had no say in what either of them did or whom they dated. All she did know was her bestie better not end up hurt. If he did then there would be a problem. For now though, for now she could handle it.
"Oh? That's cool." Yup. That was it. Cool. Ooooooookay.
This wasn't going too well. Maggie could tell. Despite the fact that that Hady had just called it 'cool'. That wasn't exactly an 'omg I'm so happy for you two'. She'd been right to be a little nervous about telling Hady. And while she hated not being the one in control – because right now she most definitely was NOT – Maggie didn't argue. For now.
Antagonizing Zeke's best friend was probably not the best way to start this off.
So she remained quiet for a moment, folding her hands in her lap. "Are you....okay with that?" Not that they needed Hady's blessing but....as much as Maggie was trying to pretend she was okay as long as she was doing what was making her happy, that just wasn't her. Or well, the thing was, she DID need other people's approval to BE happy in the first place. |
