"Hey Maggie," she greeted with a nod of her head as the girl sat down opposite her. Working on something? Not exactly. Not anything important anyhow. "Nah not really, what's up?" Hady sat up straighter in her chair the tapping of her foot coming to a complete stop. Did she want to talk about something or was she just being casual? One could never really tell with her especially after their last talk. Maggie glanced around for a moment but couldn't spot anyone who would judge her too harshly if her hair didn't look AS perfect as it usually did. So she reached up to pull off her hat, almost immediately combing her fingers through her hair in an attempt to fix it.
Setting the hat and scarf down in her lap, Maggie watched Hady curiously. Oh. So she wasn't working on anything. Well, so much for icebreaker conversation topics then. Her eyes fell on the sheet of paper in front of the other girl. What was up? Was it that obvious that she had something to share? Apparently so. "Well, I...did you talk to Zeke at all today?" Probably not or else Hady would've said something right? Maggie looked back up to meet her friend's gaze, a faint blush on her cheeks. Like, this had A LOT of potential for awkwardness now that she thought about it. Plus this was Zeke's best friend right there. So now Maggie was somewhat hoping he'd already told her.
Which was sort of unlikely. |
