Rooney wasn't sure there was a world in which his grades would slip, but he knew better to say that to another person in case they took it the wrong way. He just knew how to separate his extra curricular interests from his school work and succeed in all of them. Overachieving was something that he needed to cut down on just a little bit before he pushed people who wanted to be his friend away. "I can ask for you. That's fine.." He moved to sit on his own bed near the books that had caused this entire thing, this entire conversation.

"London, LA before that, New York before that, London again before that..."

He'd lived many places, but he didn't really want that to be a thing here to talk about. Rooney knew that there had been big reasons they moved around so much, but the fact was that he didn't know about them enough to explain it. And he definitely wasn't in a place to talk to his dorm mate who barely knew his name about it.
