From his hand where the letter had just been, Rooney looked toward Miss Charlotte Kettleburn and her...questionable antics. "Did you want to borrow my beard, Miss?" Had she a rash on her chin? A spot? Did she know that he wouldn't mind if she did? It wasn't like it stopped her being funny, nor did it stop her from being delightfully enchanting with her enthusiasm about tree decorating.
That, however, didn't mean that the tinsel wrapping wasn't weird.
It was.
But..she was going ahead and reading the letter she'd just been delivered. The letter that HE had written. The letter that -- what was that feeling in his stomach? Was it dread? Was it guilt? No.. It was his breakfast resurfacing, through a mixture of both of those feelings. Dread, guilt and a sprinkling -- or an extensive helping -- of embarrassment.

Why was she taking so long to read it?
Did she know that it was him that had wrote it? Darn, he'd given it away by being crass about her boyfriend and apologising as his letter came to a close. She knew he was the culprit behind the letter. And she wasn't going to acknowledge him again because he mentioned her being his Ravenclaw any day of the week. Ugh, this was just embarrassing.
Roo awkwardly tugged at his pyjamas -- the telling pyjamas with the exact name on that he had signed off his letter with -- and tried to pay attention to the tree they were near instead of Miss Charlotte and her tinsel covered face that apparently thought he had a nice face and smile.
And wHY did she not want him to get a girlfriend? Or a boyfriend?
Did she think that he wanted a boyfriend? Or a girlfriend?
Did she think he wasn't awesome enough to get one?
........ Girls were confusing, and this girl was just his friend.
Man, being twelve was hard work.
