"That's okay," Soph tried to reassure as brightly as she could, not wanting Ava to feel BAD about it or anything. She was just a first year who shouldn't have been expected to know these things, so really it was the Grey Lady who was dooming Soph here for not thinking this through. But... maybe she knew more than she thought she did? Taking a deeep, cleansing breath, Soph started, "Well... okay, yes... there was Glendower before the Grey Lady, and I had Professor McCormack and Professor Dursley before her..." so that was four including Binns... "oh and before I got here, I remember the... Vint...eren guy? Vinteren? And then..." Hmm. "OH, duh, Anjelica Lainey! She was Deputy Headmistress and a GHOST and she was History of Magic professor for, like, EVER. And then there was the stint of Berty Borr during her reign, too." Soph didn't know how many that was, but she was just gonna keep letting the gears turn. "And... hmm. There were a bunch... from then... till... no-- OH! Duh, Sophie - ETHAN Truebridge, the Headmistress' husband! And... and... Kyroh's dad! Scabior! He was a History of Magic professor, too!!"
That HAD TO BE CLOSE. HOW MANY WAS THAT? "Is that... is that all ten? Eight? Nine?" She hadn't been counting, she was just throwing them out there. AHHHH.
Ava counted on her finger. Glendower, Binss, McCormack, Dursley, Vinteren, Lainey, Borr(?), Truebridge, Scabior... Wait, it's just eight, or nine if Berty Borr was included. "We need two more names!" And now she scratched her head, thinking who else had been the History of Magic Professors. Ugh! "Well... Cerulean? And... and..." The younger lioness couldn't mention any other else.
"I DON'T REMEMBER ANY OTHER ELSE! DOES THAT MEAN WE CANNOT GET ANOTHER BAG OF CANDIES? OR WE LOSE???" She suddenly screamed. Oops. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scream. But but... What are we gonna do?? I'm so sorry that I don't remember any other else!" Did she mention earlier that History stuffs wasn't her thing? Yup. And she's not gonna blame Sophie if she didn't remember either. Seriously, she was just an ordinary human like anybody else.
