For Tia's final spell attempt for transfiguration, she really wanted to try animating an object. She'd read about all sorts of incidences of great witches and wizards animating objects and knew it would be of challenge. And maybe she wouldn't quite get the hang of it for another few years, but she could at least attempt it now, at sixteen.
Leaving the common room, she knew just the object to try it on. Lachlan - an old statue that had been around probably as long as the castle.
"Pi-are-tote-um Lock-oh-mo-tor" she said, practicing the incantation a moment before reaching for wand in its holster. Point at the object. An easy enough wand movement.
Pointing old Lachlan, she swallowed nervously, "Pi-are-tote-um Lock-oh-mo-tor"
Except nothing. Perhaps she was saying it wrong, she did not know, but surely it was something that Professor York could help her hone in terms of casting spells. For now though, she was totally done. As it seemed old Lachlan was done too.
