You know...he quite possibly did have those at one point today. But they went SO well with hot chocolate - a guilty pleasure that he favored over his usual brew of Earl grey during the holidays - that he may have accidentally consumed them all. Not that Miss Lynch needed to know that.
"I .... let me see," he said as he rummaged through the velvet red sack containing the marshmallows that he had extrapolated from his enchanted breast pocket. "I have a delightful batch of eggnog marshmallows...and these green ones, well, don't let them fool you. They taste just like gingerbread."
He wasn't sure why the green color...but it was what was on the label. Unless they were actually the gag flavored wasabi ones Daphne always tried to sneak into the mix. Quote:

Let them cool for a while and then I'll decorate it with the frosting first, then you can have them." Could the admiral see the devil's horn on her head? Nope, because she was wearing reindeer's ears, hehehe.
Oh look, the colored frostings were already here. "Thank you, Toddles!" The young lioness said to the elf. Okay, time to decorate the gingerbread! Ava grabbed a tray of fresh gingerbread men that had been cooled down and started to decorate it with the frosting. First, she put on the white toothpaste frosting for the eyes and mouth. And then she decorated it with the other colors. Hopefully the astronomer wouldn't be suspicious if there's a scent of peppermint on the frosting. Come on, it's Christmas and peppermint scent was common, right? "Here you go, Admiral." She offered them to Flamsteed. Eyeing the owl carefully as it swooped in and out several more times, even dropping off something for the Gryffindor, the Astronomy professor batted away a few stray feathers and turned his attention away from the young lady's artistic endeavors.
Or the toothpaste. Which DID have a very distinct smell, peppermint or not. But it went unnoticed.
"Ah, thank you, Miss Burton. Gingerbread has such an overpowering delightful flavor. Haven't had it since....oh...last Christmas I suppose. This will be a real treat," he saluted her before accepting the cookie. "Here you are, my dear," he chirped while gleefully offering Pebbles the first bite before turning the baked delight towards his own mouth; head first. The whole head was in his mouth at once, snapping off just a little below the shoulders, and quickly devours. The torso and legs soon followed. "That was quite delicious. You should enjoy one of your creations as well. "
What? The man liked peppermint.
