Just acquaintances who occasionally ended up in the same place. Not counting lessons, even though that was where they were right now.

Oh, and she’d noticed that little shudder under her feet, along with the sigh. She just wasn’t letting him get what he wanted until he finished the activity. Until they were past the finish line again and therefore nobody had to balance on anyone’s shoulders. He had to come up with more professors before that would happen, yet she’d already started reaching for the bag even before he started listing names off. Along with even more logic, which earned an eyeroll from her. She still snagged a second bag from the basket once he’d mentioned Kyroh’s dad, placing it in her robe pocket with the other one before she went back to just balancing on the Gryffindor’s shoulders.

Time to head back for the finish line. And then she could decide if the activity had been worth the trouble. Which meant it was time for Frankie to start moving again. She honestly didn’t even care if he tried to run. She trusted her sense of balance, even if she didn’t trust him. He wasn’t going to cause her to fail now, not when she’d done her part. She hadn’t had to, after all. She could have just chosen not to work with him. Not to do the activity at all.

It was just up to him if he chose to make it all worth the trouble for her. She wasn’t giving up the bag until then. So there.
Now why wasn't his candy bag being placed directly in his hands? Oh. Right. He had to finish the task at hand, even though he really wanted to do nothing more than drop Brooklyn and take his bag from her because he earned every bit of candy inside of it. Having to carry someone on their shoulders and list off a bunch of people that really didn't matter much was hard work. All she had to do was throw out some names and stand there.

And another job of hers was apparently holding his candy bag ransom. Ugh. So that was how she was going to be. Lame. Like they actually needed the satisfaction of crossing that finish line. Wasn't the candy they had good enough? She could've just jumped off, hand over the candy, and be done. But no. The Slytherin had to make things more difficult than they really had to be.

But the blond started moving his feet again and worked his way up to a sprint, not caring if Brooklyn managed to balance herself on his shoulders or not. This half of the giant was ready to be done. He was ready to devour some candy and not have anyone standing on his nagging shoulders any longer.

They were now about a quarter of the way there ... then halfway ... three-quarters ... the finish line was only a few inches away ... AND THE LINE HAD BEEN CROSSED!

"Oh, thank Merlin!" Frankie purposefully moved his body in a way that surely would have made the girl lose her balance and fall to the floor if he was lucky. It was time to get off of his shoulders. No more freeloading. They successfully completed the activity and managed to do it without murdering each other. "You're welcome. Now, hand over my candy," he said with a held out his hand, waiting with full intentions of going to the opposite side of the room to enjoy his goodies in peace.
