Altair is very introverted. He usually keeps to himself and likes to have his alone time. Though he's very interested in other people socially, even in a crowd he's a bit of a loner. Altair has a very sweet-nature and is tremendously caring and generous. He is also a bit of a neat freak. Altair at home has every thing in order and in their place. Just being around people that are messy or even looking at a mess makes him incredibly nervous. And when he's really nervous his ears begin to wiggle. Part of his loneliness is coming from just finding out that he's a wizard. Discovering he's from a magical world he never knew existed makes him extremely uncomfortable. He always seeks the unknown, which might be perceived as annoying, but he's truly earnest about it.

On August 22, 2071, Bristol Royal Hospital's maternity ward was filled with screams of a newborn boy to Mr. and Mrs. Merrit. His mama and papa beamed at their first child. His mother said there was something very special about that boy in which she was referring to the unique markings on his back making up the constellation Aquila. "He's our little star child," his mother cooed as she held him closely in her arms. "Welcome to this magical world Altair."

But, the time with his mother would come to an end just three years later after his little sister Astra was born. Their mother without taking any of her belongings just left, leaving a note behind saying, "I'm sorry, but I can't pretend anymore." Though Altair never saw the heartbreaking words, that moment would forever change the Merrit's lives. His father stopped piloting and began to work on planes instead to be more grounded and closer to his children.

Altair went to Bristol Grammer School up until he received his letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He had no idea that such a world existed and felt like they made a mistake. However, when he went to Diagon Alley and got his was he created a golden rainbow with shooting stars. It was the first time he truly felt like a wizard. Now, he's still unsure with the idea of magic, but for now he's looking forward to his first year at Hogwarts.
