She looked a little like Mrs. Claus in her red dress with a Santa hat tipped at a jaunty angle on her coiffed hair, and her eyes drank in all the festive outfits the students were wearing. Tinsel and hats and bells and jangles. Very nice.

"Hello, all. The Board of Governors send their holiday greetings to you." The woman took a seat near the middle of the table, close enough to students and professors and all the lovely food. This was a proper feast! Mo and Doyle would be terribly disappointed to have missed out on such a treat.
Beatrice was just about to shove a roast carrot into her mouth when she spotted the Cassandra of the Board of Governors. A most special guest tonight. And she was dressed the part for the Christmas Feast, which got a huge grin from Beatrice.

"Hello! Merry Christmas!" she said to Cassandra.

But before she could actually scoop any out of the full bowl, she heard a comment behind her about a Christmas cracker. She thought it was her colleague, but she wasn't sure of it until the woman spoke directly to her a few moments later.

"Beatrice!" she exclaimed happily after swallowing her first bite of delicious dessert. "Happy Christmas to you! I'd love to pull the cracker with you, unless you've already found someone," she said, tentatively extending her free hand.
Beatrice noticed that Tiara was going for the pudding first. A VERY good choice, if you ask her. Very good indeed. In fact, why hadn't Beatrice gone for the desserts first? "Nope, nobody yet," she said, grabbing one end and extending it to Tiara. "Count of three? One - two - Three!" she pulled her end and heard a spectacular BANG!

Laughing delightedly she added "You know, I've always meant to start with dessert first at a feast but I never do." Disappointing really.

Colt nodded and understood the feeling. "Yeah my mom stole my santa hat. It is back home I forgot to bring it. I will remember next year." He tilted his head in confusion and didn't understand what she was saying. "Wait...you mean that bon bon.....that piece of candy could be a santa hat?" Well he was talking to the transfiguration teacher so anything is possible. He began to dig into his steak when he heard Professor York ask about his holidays.

He chewed a bit more before he answered. He didn't want to spray any food onto her. He swallowed and took a swig of pumpkin juice and replied with, "Oh my holidays are great! This castle is amazing for the holidays. I mean I went to Durmstrang for three years and it wasn't this cool." He began to look around in awe still at all the trees and decorations. "My mother sent me a card and gifts early before the holidays so I am all set." he grinned. She managed to get him a skateboard which he enjoys.
"Glad to hear," Beatrice said, letting out a laugh. "Oh dear... she stole it? Needed a costume did she?" Beatrice just could NOT have someone missing out on a Christmas hat. Nope. Removing her hat and placing it in front of her, she pulled her wand out and pointed it at the hat. "Geminio," she said, flicking her wand. Ahh, now there were two. "Would you like a hat, Colt?" she asked, holding the other one up.

Bon bon? Perhaps other people didn't call them bon bons. Beatrice held it up, "What do you call it? Christmas cracker?"

Ahh Beatrice hadn't known he had gone to Durmstrang. "That's very interesting," she said. "What was Christmas like at Durmstrang?" Nowhere did Christmas quite like Hogwarts, though. She returned his grin at hearing about his card and gifts from his mother. At least he had a holiday greeting from back home.

The boy quickly found a seat and started to fill his plate with food, all types. Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, bread and anything else he could find. This was his happy place.
And Beatrice spotted another familiar face sitting down to the feast. "Hello Hugo! Merry Christmas!" She said happily.
