He saved them all, drying them out and putting them in jars or...hanging them...they decorated his office so nicely. He took the flower and smiled a little as he blinked a lot. “And yes, Norah is a very kind soul.” Sophie BEAMED proudly at Myers and-- oh, no, had she made him CRY? She almost softly advised him to not cry, professor, because that was really sad and heartbreaking in a way, but it was also really cute and she felt GOOD about making him feel that kind of delight that caused crying. So, BRING ON THE TEARS, SIR.
"No need to thank me, professor. You've already done enough." By being a delight to their lives. Text Cut: ROONEY Quote:

"Mister Zander Adair, Head Boy of Hogwarts, is" egotistically as big-headed as his physical head would suggest? A giant wet towel? "a big inspiration." Badge wise.
Girlfriend wise.
... Did Rooney want to be like him?
... ... Could they just start the class now or was he going to have to think more about the Head Boy? ...And then it was Soph's turn to tear up at the flower-giving gesture. Ohhhh, SWEET ROONEY BRONWYN. The Head Girl positively glowed with elation when he tried to hand her ALL the flowers - even though Myers was quick to shoot Rooney down and only allow her to keep one - but Soph pulled Rooney in for a genuine, warm bear hug and gave a soft, fond pet of his hair.
"It's all right, don't worry. I only need one flower for you to make me feel special anyway." She pulled away and smiled down at her friend, her eyes shining. "Thanks, Rooney. Y'always know the way to my heart." So yes, Maggie, that was an AFFIRMATIVE. He DID know what girls liked, uh huh. Text Cut: Janelle! Quote:

Janelle looked around to see who had arrived already. The answer was, pretty much everybody. Who would she give a compliment to today? She had plenty of students to choose from, but she would prefer to talk about someone she knew. On her second scan of the room, she made a decision. "Sophie Brown is an amazing leader." Well it was true. In Janelle's eyes, the Head Girl could do no wrong.
Sliding into the already formed circle. Janelle set her bag down and prepared for meditation time. She didn't really mind it. Anything that helped her get focused was alright by Janelle. Were her Ravenclaw babies all trying to make her cry today or what?
"Thanks, Janelle," came Soph's slightly uncharacteristically timid reply, her gentle tone and smile conveying just how genuine she was. Soph wasn't sure about amazing, but... she'd take it, just for today. Didn't want to make Janelle feel like her opinion was not heard or invalid. No, it was very much appreciated, just... perhaps a little exaggerated, no? The seventh year was certain many people in the classroom disagreed with the younger Ravenclaw's sentiments, but it was encouraging for Janelle to genuinely think so highly of her.
She was gonna miss that kid. Text Cut: BEGINNING OF CLASS Quote:

Paul could think of a few things for this..mhmm….
“And as you slowly breathe out...let us push all of the bad ideas and thoughts out with us...let the negative energy flow into the air…” He always worried for the plants...what if they got HIT with the bad energy? It was why he opened the door after the meditation. GET THOSE BAD VIBES OUT OF HERE! “Let them drain out of you….you are left with you and your thoughts….” His voice was still soft. “Think of today...think of the fresh start you have for life...every day...you get a chance….to prove yourself...every day….think of your goals….how you wish to accomplish them….” Ahem. Paul was speaking softly, STILL, and had his eyes closed. “And think of all that you are blessed with…”
Paul could think of MANY things. One being his students. Blessing, they were, even if they were grumpy sometimes. Or sad. Or mad. Paul didn’t care or mind. People were people...and people had feelings. “And with that--we will begin our lesson--” his voice was normal once more and he let go of his neighbor’s hands, returning to the front of the room. “Everyone find a spot! We’re going to be talking about something I find VERY important for anyone interested in seriously taking care of plants--muggle OR magical.”
He grabbed his wand. “But first--tell me--what is important for plants? Nutrition wise? What do they need?” He waved his wand and a title appeared on the board. OOC: I will be moving the class on in...10-12 hours. Depending. <3 Negativity. Meditation. Right. Soph went through with the exercise, breeeeeathing deeply and trying to rid thoughts of perfection and making people proud and being a good leader... alllll the things that made her anxious, and instead letting herself be filled up with the sort of feelings Rooney and Janelle had just induced in her...
She was good now.
When they were told to pick a spot, Soph wanted to be by both Norah AND Rooney, but Rooney was moving a little bit away - still, Soph gave a regretful sort of look to Norah and followed the Ravenclaw over, choosing to work beside him today, her flower in hand. He made her feel good, like she could do anything, and... he was the kind of person she wanted to be around as much as possible. Plus, she didn't want to make him think she wasn't appreciative of his gesture nor that she was embarrassed by him. Quite the contrary, she adored him and his sweetness, so she would stick beside him this lesson.
At the professor's question, naturally people gave standard answers, so... since the bases were just about covered, Soph offered up a rather unconventional answer with a raised hand. "When in our care, professor, they need to be understood, wholly and fully. Their needs, their requirements for a successful, thriving life - on their own plants can take care of themselves, they're essentially wired to look after themselves and thrive in their natural environment, and they adapt to that environment, but with the ones we're dealing with in class like in a greenhouse, if we don't understand their entire makeup and know just the right amount of care they need and in what sort of conditions they'll thrive, they won't thrive at all."
A very sensible answer, perhaps, but she thought it was vital to stress the importance of learning about each individual plant and that not every plant could be cared for in the same way. Very helpful, mmhmm.
