But before she could actually scoop any out of the full bowl, she heard a comment behind her about a Christmas cracker. She thought it was her colleague, but she wasn't sure of it until the woman spoke directly to her a few moments later.

Happy Christmas to you! I'd love to pull the cracker with you, unless you've already found someone," she said, tentatively extending her free hand.
