As more of her friends began to arrive at the table Hady spotted Paulina nearly the same time the older girl had spotted her. "Merry Christmas to you as well and yes I did," she greeted with a small smile. She had joined the Secret Santa list finding it a nice thoughtful idea. Every little once of cheer that was brought into the holiday made it all that much more special.
"Happy Christmas." Hady returned back to the Ravenclaw with a gentle smile when she saw him get up and move over accepting her request for him to join them. Austin may not have seemed thrilled about it but he hadn't said no or anything. Turning slowly towards him a little Hady spoke once more. "Are you enjoying the holiday so far?" Did he like being here at the castle or would he have rather gone home like herself?
Aaww no he didn't need to be sorry that she hadn't been able to go home. It wasn't exactly anyone's fault it was just how things had turned out. "It's alright. I don't really mind being here, it's just that we were supposed to be moving over the break only now my father said the house isn't ready yet," the Slytherin explained as she looked Zander's way. Not ready. Those were the words that had been used in the letter she'd gotten days earlier. With a small shrug of her shoulders she added a few seconds later, "Whatever that's supposed to mean." Really she didn't even know what that meant.
Her fellow Slytherin's all got grins as they joined the table. She didn't have a problem with any of them so the more the merry for now.
Oh! Lookit! Hady lifted her gaze slightly as the owl swooped down dropping off Secret Santa letters to some of her fellow mates. She watched silently taking in the expressions on their faces as they read them. This Secret Santa thing had been a nice idea from the school.
Austin turned towards
Hady, taking a bite from a strawberry.
"Eh, I normally like Christmas, but I'm just not feeling the spirit this year." He shrugged. There was no need to dampen the mood with the story of his mother. The Ravenclaw was just going to sit here and drink his tea. Maybe chat.
"What about you? Enjoying the festive castle?" He did have to admit, the castle did seem brighter than previous years.

“Thanks” he said, taking the mug of tea from across the table that the slytherin girl had made. He took a sip, realized that it was too hot and blew on it instead. “How you doing by the way?” he asked. Just trying to keep the conversation going. Since he was horrible at that.
Looking at the guy (Austin) he did not know sitting next to Hady, Yoongi smiled while sipping his tea when he told them all a happy Christmas “You too… hey, I’m Yoongi..i’d shake hands but unless you want to get sick as well I suggest you don’t”
An older looking woman (Cassandra) appeared and she did not look like one of the Professor’s. He looked at Zander with a raised eyebrow. “Board of Governors…what’s that?” seriously, he was not ministry smart. How he managed to get sick? Yoongi tried not to roll his eyes. How did one even know how they got sick? “I always get a bit sick during this time of the year, it’s a like a holiday gift” he said and made a face as if he was about to sneeze but then …”false alarm”
Spotting Olympia somewhere on the other side of the table, Yoongi did not risk raising his voice again in case he sneezed or coughed over everyone again. So instead, he took a piece of paper out of his pocket, crumbled it up and threw it at her to get her attention.
Heeeereee! Looook!
“What you mean? A spiky purple beard would have been really festive!” he laughed as Adi definitely got his attention now. “You could have hung Christmas balls in it!” imagine it though! Bwahaha…”wait that’s BRILLIANT! Aww man why don’t I have a bea----HEY!” He did NOT just insult his face. Nuhuh not the face! Of course he got that Adi was just joking. He didn’t seem the type to insult someone’s appearance. “oh go away” he grinned.
Austin turned towards the boy (
Yoongi) who had addressed him.
"I'm Austin, and by the sounds of it, I'll keep my hands on my tea." He took a sip, turning his attention to the owls. A few had flew in, dropping letters here and there. He did participate in the Secret Santa but he was worried about being forgotten. Which probably didn't happen, there were thousands of owls at Hogwarts and if he did get a letter, it would happen eventually. He just needed to stop being a worry wort, and drink his tea.
He saw a Hufflepuff (
Olympia) sitting alone, gazing at some food. And then he saw Yoongi throw some paper at her.
"Dude, what in Merlin's beard are you doing?" That was a little rude, she wasn't sitting
that far away.
