"D'you remember the questions right off? I wrote them down..." Dot scrambled for the bit of parchment in her pockets to see if she could find the questions again. Something... about... secrets. They'd have to warm up to that one, because Dot held her secrets really close.
"Well, it says to share something personal, and it also says to tell a secret later. I don't suppose you know what the difference is there, do you? I'm not terribly literal minded, but we could just tell the same thing twice and maybe the question will disappear off the page? D'you have something to share? Something personal?" Oh, Merlin, she was doing that thing again.
Ahem. Her something personal. "I talk too much. All the time. Like literally talk too much and literally say too much. It's a problem."
Rusty didn't mind it being cold. In fact, she was pretty much completely used to it. She lived in a draughty house and spent most of her time outside, so it was like she'd developed a little layer of self-heating... Or maybe it was just that she never really noticed because she was always distracted by something else.
She felt immediately brighter as they stepped outside, and developed a skip in her step.
"Oh! I picked up our flashcard." She dug it out of her pocket and held it up, waving it a little.
"But I think secrets and personal things are different because I don't have any secrets really but I have lots of things that are about me personally because... I'm a person." Which made sense, obviously.
She noticed that Dot had taken a seat on a railing, but decided to give that a miss, and sit on the floor instead. Rowan quite liked sitting on the floor... it was closer to the ground or something... She did her best to listen intently to what the other girl was saying, though she was dying to chime in with "Yeah me too I used to get in trouble for it sometime but..." blah blah blah... etcetera.
And then it was her turn!
"Well.. I talk lots too but I think it would be cheating to say the same thing. Sooooooooooo..." She made a soft humming sound whilst she thought of something...
"Well, back home I live with twenty nine other people who are like my siblings and my aunts and uncles and my grammy and my mum. Except not all of them are actually related to me, we just all live together and stuff. It gets really loud sometimes and it's awesome 'cause there's always someone to talk to and it's kind of brilliant when you need someone to help you reach something because the adults will always help and if they're not there Laurel and Peter are really tall so that's handy." Rusty had, of course, lost her train of thought somewhere in that explanation, and wasn't paying much attention to the flashcard...
"But sometimes I get homesick cause none of them can come h- OH!" She pointed at the card... where the 'personal' question had disappeared.
"Your turn!" What was next...
"It says... do an impression of a celebrity or a professor..."
