As long as it stopped him from going on and on about chocolate frogs…and she hadn’t said it to ask for any either. She could get her own if she wanted. She still had a few left over from the summer when she’d bought them in Diagon Alley anyway. She didn’t need to ask for handouts. Gifts, maybe, but not from him.
She’d honestly stayed quiet up until he’d spoken about the spiders. That would always get her attention, but more so because the memories were still fresh. She would always remember being bitten and how she’d felt for a long time after that. The webs were nothing. “So? Those can always be brushed off,” she replied, glancing over at him rather incredulously. It was a lot harder to brush off catching some weird spider illness from invisible spiders. Which reminded her that she hadn’t seen Cutty since last term. Maybe he’d ended up some sort of weird spider creature. Shudder.
Adi remained silent for a long time. In his head where a whirl of things: stuff he had to do later on that day, deciding on a study time table (which he eventually made but never got around to following until a few months later) but mostly why Brooklyn seemed to hate him so much. He just couldn't put his fingers on the reason or reasons. So what did the Hufflepuff decide to do? He just asked out right. Yup.
"Why do you hate me so much?" "Well, yeah they can be or moved away with a Charm,'' Adi replied cheerily, now boosting himself up slightly by resting his hands steadily on the rail of the balcony and letting them take all his body weight. He was just testing the strength of his arms, guys. Maybe he should shut up with the spider talk? Brooklyn didn't seem to get that the webs could be just as bad for him as much as the spiders could be for her. Mainly, he was considering that the talk might upset her morning. Well, upset her morning more because she obviously wasn't too pleased with seeing him though why she stuck around with him was a great question.
"Let's talk about something happier.'' Wheee! Looky! He could boost himself up properly! His feet weren't touching the floor! Cool! He let himself fall back onto his feet and began bouncing on them.
"Have you thought of what you want to do after you graduate?"
