If only his new boss understood the significance of such an innocuous remark.
Vickers walked beside his Department Head as they made their way towards the front desk, his own footsteps barely audible with the sound of Lynley's footfall. He nodded his head to acknowledge her words about a memo, but otherwise he was completely serene.
He was still mulling quietly to himself why they were at the A&C offices anyway, at least relative to the matter at hand, when a staffer came up to greet them. His icy blue gaze slid quietly towards Lynley. He thought it best to leave the explaining to her.
