He coughed a few times 'cause ahem Arithmancy. Wow, Soph.
No one else heard that right?
Quickly he averted his attention back to the board, not even thinking about his next move, really just scribbling down his X in order to have something to do that didn't include being the personified version of a ripe tomato in the middle of a summer garden. "Er... Yours," STILL RED by the way. THANKS, SOPHIE. Sophie Brown was oblivious to the fact that she may have crossed a line - boundaries were never something she understood, many people would attest to that - but she did giggle just a little bit more at Zander's expense. When his knee hit the desk, Soph shot a grin over at Tanner - an apologetic one, and mouthed a 'sorry' to her - before returning her attention to Zander, her quiet giggles still adding background noise to the class activity.
"What? It's true." Innocent shrug.
Looking entirely too smug, Soph gave Zander a nudge as if to say quit it, you're drawing attention to us, as if SHE wasn't drawing attention to them by giggling up a storm, then nabbed the quill from him and took her turn, still unable to fully stifle her amusement. Everything was SO FUNNY. And... to the trained eye, it was definitely more funny than Sophie Brown would've normally ever thought it was, so there was... definitely some overcompensating going on. Too desperate to feel happiness and fight away the lingering bad feelings of worrying about Tobes was the real explanation, though right now, she wasn't self-aware enough to pick up on any of that. She was just engrossed in the moment and LIVIN' THE DREAM.
