He glanced at Blaise, hoping his friend would know what was happening again. Luckily for him, the Gryffindor spoke aloud to his quill while doing work, which was very helpful for somebody like Oliver who was not sure what to do. Step one, write down a dream he'd had. Got it.
It was true. He'd had the dream a few nights into the term. Olly had no idea what happened after that because he'd woken up, terrified. It had been a scary nightmare at the time, even though it just seemed stupid now.
Okay, he'd written down a dream, now what? People were talking, and definitely doing more than just writing down a dream. But Blaise was still talking to his quill about his dream, so Olly looked the other direction toward Ellery. "Psst, what now?" She seemed to know what was going on. Ellery heard her brother and turned to him. He spaced out too? Cool. "We analyze the specific parts of dreams. Let me see yours." She pulled his parchment towards her, read it, then looked up in horror. "It ATE my HEAD!?!??!?" That's scary! She turned to the right page in her textbook. "Hat means...'unsatisfactory business and failure of persons to keep important engagements,' So maybe your mad at me for being late to our lunchtime hangouts? Sorry, you know I'm trying my best." She paused, then: "Freud would probably say something more about your subconscious. Do you secretly hate me?"
That would be sAD.
Okay. But her dream. Roses "denote that some joyful occasion is nearing, and you will possess the faithful love of your sweetheart" - ???????? Uhm NO?????????? She didn't fancy anyone. Ick.
Freud would say something even more icky. |
