"My real name is Charlotte, but everyone has always called me Dot. You can call me either, if you are bothered by one or the other," Dot watched with interest as Blaise tried to cast the spell... without removing his wand or waving it. Not much of an effort, actually, or else he really didn't understand how spell-casting worked.

It required a wand, that much was for sure.

"So your wand does work," she pointed her wand and waited for him to throw it again. "I guess you just have to get to know her better. And... you do have to take it out of the holster to use it. Lesson one." And he tossed the ball. Dot spoke the incantation quickly, and she focused on sending it back gently. Or more gently, at least. "Depulso."

The ball arched back toward Blaise. PERFECT ARCH. "No, of course not. Still doesn't."
