Dot's helpfulness wasn't being properly appreciated, which... she understood. Who wanted to be lectured about how easy it was to do something that wasn't that easy at all? Poor ickle. She tossed the ball gently in his direction, underhanded and not at all forcefully. Not that he couldn't handle more of a toss, but she was better aiming her wand than she was aiming a ball.

"I'm Dot. She never ever does what you want? Have you had success with any type of spell?" Because that's the thing to capitalize on - the bits that worked. Capture the feeling, apply it elsewhere. Not that she'd explain that to Blaise, since he didn't want to be lectured. "Throw it to me, and I'll use my wand to throw it back, and you can catch it." Compromise.
