Astrid thought about other approaches. Clearly this was not primary school. Mainly why she was taking on this new challenge, because it was an actual challenge. Teenager. Fuzzy creatures. "Mister Adair, if you think you're here because you're in trouble, please get that out of your mind. You are in no trouble at all," she smiled kindly. She understood being called out to a professor's office. It was all of a sudden, 'Oooh! You're in a load of trouble!' Not in her case. Not this time. "Evidently there was some issue with the lesson today, and I believe that is what has you in this mood at the moment." M'hm, m'hm. She wasn't judging him or accusing him, it was a fact and she preferred to be frank than beat around the tree...or bush? Whatever the term was. She wasn't beating around anything. "And I want to help. How can I help so that next time it is less stressful?" Astrid was being sincere. His learning was important to her. Okay. So he wasn't. He REALLY did try to come off otherwise, but Zander Adair was very bad at hiding how he felt about things. Maybe it had something to do with being an expressive Gryffindor. Who knew? Not Zander. Because he was trying incredibly hard to look as neutral as he could. Though he couldn't wipe the frown off his face and his arm crossing was getting progressively tighter across his chest.
... So he wasn't in trouble? Zander only slightly raised a brow, curious as to why he was actually here in the first place. If he wasn't in trouble and she didn't actually need his help, then why in Merlin's name had she wanted to see him? Then as if she could read his mind which he had recently learned is not the case in most instances, cough davie truebridge cough, she went on to explain. Sort of.
It was clear that she noticed his less than enthusiastic behavior in class.... And she wanted to help? "I'm not stressed," LOL biggest lie of the century, probably. "It's just those stupid nonverbals. I can't do them." Was it allowed to say the word stupid in front of a Professor? Because Zander had momentarily forgotten proper Office etiquette. Ahem. Sorry, Prof. He wasn't normally like this. He was usually in a better, goofier mood.
