Hady knew her silence to this confirmation wasn't good. She couldn't help it though, for some reason unknown to her she couldn't form the right words to say right now. Or well at least until Maggie kept talking that is.
What did she mean by it was 'nothing' and it's 'over'. Didn't she like him?
Hady blinked a few times and rubbed a hand at her eye in a movement to not only get herself to do something but to give herself a moment to clear her head. Finally words came to her. "Nothing? Over? What do you mean by that, don't you like him?" And by like she meant 'like' not just a 'hey, how are you?' type of thing. So they'd established that it was her conditioner and shampoo.
Good.
Maggie was sort of regretting having told Hady about it now. She should've just let Zeke handle that. Or not tell her at all. It wasn't exactly relevant anymore. Hady didn't have to know. Since it wasn't going to happen again. Not after he'd abandoned her even though he'd PROMISED that he wouldn't. How could she ever trust him again? Or, more importantly, how could she ever look at him without feeling the urge to slap him? So yes.
Snogging would be hard if all she wanted to do was slap him, right?
When Hady finally did speak, Maggie wished she hadn't. What was it with that stupid question? They were snogging...or HAD BEEN!!!...not dating. What did it really matter if they liked each other or not? She shrugged, not really sure into how much detail she wanted to go there. "It just happened somehow. And now it won't happen again." Which didn't REALLY answer Hady's questions. "He got the chance to leave detention early and he took it." Like. That was rude, no? |
