"Indeed," he nodded, glancing over his shoulder just quickly enough to throw Pebbles a wink. "The same rocks that volunteered to help with my lesson a bit ago, actually. They are each still looking for their forever home. Already house trained and everything."
Soooooooooo what do you say, Mr. Moore?
Austin's eyes widened. This was it. The moment he was waiting for since their lesson.
"Professor, I would love to be the forever home of one of these pets." Okay, so maybe it was a little weird that the boy was so into this. They were only rocks. But it was more than that to him. Athena, his screech owl, flew out a lot sending his letters. There were times when she was gone for weeks at a time. So he was by himself a lot, especially since he didn't have many friends. He thought it would be nice to have a little friend to keep him company. Maybe bring him/her to class? They could help if he forgot any notes.
"Do they eat anything specific? Also, I have a pet owl. Do they get along well with owls?" These were very iportant questions that he wanted to know the answer to. Hopefully he didn't think the blue eyed boy was making fun of him. This was something he really wanted.
