She tried to put on a cheery disposition for him so he wouldn't see that she was disappointed in herself - she should've done WAY BETTER than that, y'know? - and unzipped the ball, offering a hand to help him out, then ended up pulling him in for a hug. Partly to stabilize him from potential dizziness, but mostly because she felt dumb for not getting a strike for him.
She detached from him as they waited for their next turn, not wanting Moxley to scold them for PDA from hugging, and offered to him quietly, "Think we're at... nineteen now? This is our last go. S'not a bad average, s'like..." nineteen divided by four, "just short of a five-pin average. D'you think that's 'nuff to win?" She didn't know. They were facing a lot of really good-looking pairings, and some of them were doing just as well if not better than them. What if they LOST? What if two seventh years who were supposed to be good role models lost to, like... first years?
The pressure of the badge was getting to Sophie Brown's head, but at least this roll was out of her hands. She just got to be in the ball and hope for the best.
When it was their turn again, Soph gave Zander an encouraging smile and climbed into the ball, got herself situated, and gave him her customary thumbs-up to let him know she was ready when he was.
They had this. Zander was actually really happy with the four pins and he was smiling super big at her to indicate it. Four out of six was a really great number, okay? But anyways, he appreciated the hug because he probably would've fallen right over as he got out. "We've got this, Soph," he really DID want to win, but if they didn't... It wouldn't be the end of the world, right? 'Cause it was only bowling after all. Not a true game of skill or anything...
Anyways, he helped Sophie get into the ball and zipped her in rather quickly. Merlin, if they didn't win at least he became practically professional at setting this whole thing up. They had it down to a science at this point. Practically wasted no time getting in and out of the plastic inflated ball.
And..... It was their turn again so he rolled the ball (and Soph) a little further back from the lane so he could get them a running start at the pins. "READY, SET, GOOOOOOOOOOO!!" Ane he ran pushing the ball in front of him letting go a foot before the fault line just in case and watched as Soph went spinning over.
AND THERE SHE WENT CRASHING TOWARDS THE PINS!
But how many? He couldn't quite see. THE ADRENALINE MAN, IT WAS THERE.
