...But then Culloden was being TOTALLY mean to her instead. PFFFFFFFFT. "Ruuuuude," she chimed, appearing outwardly unfazed by the man's (playful?) attempt to bring her down, and crossed her arms smugly over her chest. "He didn't make any mistakes, contrary to what everyone seems to be so inclined to believe." Kind of a touchy subject for Sophie Brown deep down, but she was trying really, really hard to not let on to her buried hurt over any accusation that she didn't deserve the badge. She avoided Zander's gaze, though, because she was certain he would see the hurt behind her facade if she dared to look at him, especially since he already knew she was sensitive over the badge from her bout with Evie. He was good at noticing the subtleties when something was wrong, and Culloden never had been. So she kept her gaze locked on the potions master.
"'N I don't hate you." It was weird that he'd even say that, though. "M'only cheeky with you, though. Well, 'n sometimes Flammy, when he's in a good mood. He's less fun to joke 'round with, though, 'cause he gets super uncomfortable and super uneasy really fast. He doesn't have as good of a sense of humor as you, which is why you're usually my target." See? So it was a thing of admiration, really. He should've been flattered. "'N now that both Quiggles 'n Javy are gone, too, you're the only one left with a sense of humor, so you're probably gonna be bothered by me more than anyone." Besides Dakest, who was quickly growing on Sophie Brown. Dakest was actually almost just as fun to tease as Culloden was, maybe even more. Quote:

If it weren't for Cosgroach Culloden and that meddling Sophie Brown too. Sigh. So he sat, though not by choice. He really didn't see the point of being here anyways. Of course he was sure that Sophie Brown had some sort of purpose in coming for this office visit. But why the heck had she made him join in? Y'know, the saddest part is that this happened quite a lot. And yet Zander STILL always went along with it. Of course not without protest, but he always let Sophie win in the end because how do you say no to her? It's not even fair. His weakness, clearly.
So he sat.
Of course he had understood that her comment actually meant a lot more than she was letting on, but Sophie wasn't even trying to meet his eyes... But he still kept his gaze towards her, a little concerned. But this whole exchange was way beyond him right now.
So he just sat and let them do their thing. Cosgrach grinned at her then. Of course Botros didn't make a mistake. If anything, she was one of the best this school had ever had. So he waved his hand dismissively. "Everyone already knows you're the best." He meant it too, it was quite obvious on his face.
And he WAS flattered. For once, he had no rival and no one to be compared to, no chance to be called 'old'; as far as he knew at least so he grinned at her cheekily back. "Finally," he said, "I'm the only one, eh?" Being the only one left sounded weird, but he didn't dwell on that much. Instead, he pointed at Zander with his head and said "Why did you bring the poor guy here?" Text Cut: Casey Quote:

Was she going to act innocent, "I didn't know it was against the rules?" or was she going to go along the route of "it didn't actually end up hurting anyone, plus, the prefects didn't do anything about it" OR was she going to stand up and simply say that she thought it would be funny?
The answer: all three. "I mean, it wasn't stated in the rules ever that students aren't allowed to be funny and creative…I guess I did it coz I thought it'd be funny…I didn't intend anyone to get hurt, and no one did…plus, I guess I thought if push came to shove, a prefect or someone would stop it if it got too out of hand."
Was she lying? Not really… Now that the boy was given a chance - to stay nor go out - Cosgrach could focus on the girl, and he inclined his head to the side a little while his intent brown eyes were on her. Hmm... well. "You and I have different sense of humour," he said, but he didn't look too bothered by it. "I believe ya. That your intentions weren't bad." And the outcome wasn't bad either. Still... "No harm done, then. You can leave if you don't have anything else to say." That had been his intention: to see whether she lied or were innocent. Good to know she was the latter.
Still, he would watch her closely. Just in case. Text Cut: Star-Lord Quote:

Laughing would just make everything worse for her. But she felt the laughter almost escape her. FOR THE LOVE THAT IS ALL HOLY IN MERLIN'S NAME, DO. NOT. LAUGH.
Instead, Timmy sniffled a bit and shook her head. "No, sir." No? "Why did you have such an outburst in the class, then?" That... was more than plain old 'Gryffindor courage'. Text Cut: Dani Quote:

Was he gonna lose marks off his homework because it wasn't HIS potion that he used and wrote an essay about? Would he have to brew it AGAIN? Oh Merlin he barely managed it the first time--and he had help then!! Slowly, the Gryffindor entered the room, allowing his quick quotes quill and notepad to float along before him. "Good day, Professor." 'Cause Blaise had manners, yup, and that might end up saving him in case the Professor got as mean and cranky as he did during that first class...which probably meant he needed to make his smile wider and cuter but right now it was REALLY HARD. "I didn't mean to mess up the Potion. I was just trying to keep up with everybody and I kept falling behind then I finallycaught upanddidn'twanna endupbehindagainandI'mnotcutoutfordetentionProfess or." His wand didn't work right. If something went wrong down there, he would have no means of helping himself--could they see the dungeons though? Even once? It'd make for a brilliant story. "Hello, Mr. Bellaire," Cosgrach greeted the boy and - okay. Okay. Wow. Okay. The kid had a long breath, got that.
He grinned at the boy to hopefully show that it was ALRIGHT. "I don't... give detention to students who brew wrong," he said hesitantly - the boy mentioned 'detention' somewhere there, right? "I know you didn't mean to mess it up. No one wants that. It's your first ever potion, so you have the right to make mistakes." Yes? Good. "We can go over your mistakes if you want." Or not.
