Attempting to apologize and explain at the same time Leo said "Sorry Paul, it was not my intent to make you nervous at all it's just in here you can't be too cautious. The books can really attack you."
"A book for transfiguration," Leo repeated as he started to lead Paul out of the section again. "Like about animagus transformations or something?" He wondered curiously but he wasn't expecting Paul really to remember since it was such a long time ago. Leo wasn't sure he himself what book he had loaned many years ago if someone had asked him.
Smiling Leo almost reached out to pet Paul's arm as he commented quietly "I think you have to prepare for yourself to take points from the students. They aren't perfect, they'll make mistakes and will most probably break rules that you'll need to deduct house points for as punishment. It's the only way they'll learn right from wrong. If it's any consolation I'm not a fan of deducting points either but if its warranted in a situation then I do it. Let's go check out the bookshelves next. I need to put up a sign there." Paul nodded.
"I assure you--I'm fine. Not too nervous as to want to LEAVE or anything." He followed Leo along, curiously staring everywhere that he could. He hoped he and Leo didn't disturb any studious students!
And.....he sighed.
"I know--I know--" he rubbed his face a bit and then ran his hand through his hair.
"It will pain me, but I will do it when I must. I don't think it's right to just...take points all willy-nilly though!" he used to HATE when professors did it, all those years ago, now.
"I'm glad I will be able to GIVE points to students, though. A boost of confidence, it is." For the well-achieving student, it would be.
"And...I think it might have been on the theories behind Transfiguration...not so much any magical things..."
He peered around at the shelves, smiling at certain titles he thought might be interesting.
"I'll have to check out some books. Some of these fascinating--I keep a very wide collection of books in my office--most of them, however, are centered around botany and Herbology."
