Evie paused and thought back to what she said. "Did I say Head Boy? I meant prefect. Benzi, the prefect, he's the Head Dude. Not the Head Boy." Merlin, keeping up with her lies was already getting complicated. THAT was why people weren't supposed to lie. But she was just having a bit of FUN, you know, not, like, ruining his life or something bad. Just fun.

"You see," Evangeline began again, spinning up another web of lies for the boy. "The Head Boy and Girl are quite different from the Head Babe and Dude. The Head Boy and Girl are plain-Jane, boring, goody-two-shoes; supposed to set good examples for all the rest of the students in the school." Okay, so Sophie and Zander weren't really boring, but y'know, since she was ALREADY lying... "And the Head Babe and Head Dude are more, like... Castle idols." Ooooh, good one, Shacklebolt. "They're the ones everybody wants to BE, you know? The COOL kids. The ones with style."

So, in other words, no, it wasn't official. "It's not in the book because... it's supposed to be a surprise." Yep. Surprise! Just like that. ~~LIES.~~

Evie smiled down at the blushing boy. "Well, of course I know her, she was the Headmistress last year. I liked her quite a bit, but she did seem a bit underqualified for the more... dangerous parts about the castle." Such as the protection of the castle from acromatulas... And here was hoping that the boy didn't write that part in his next letter home.
