On Benny's count to three, he lifted the vial to swallow the contents. Hmmm... it didn't taste too bad. "Tastes like raw meat,'' he had just enough time to utter. Was the meat road kill? Haha. Adi didn't know but because eagles ate raw meat as part of their diet would explain why the potion tasted like that. But why did he just have enough time to comment of the taste? Because the first change that happened to the Hufflepuff was his mouth.
It started protruding outwards and hardening at the same time. Adi's eyes widened slightly as his hands rushed up to feel the forming beak. His eyes snapped to Benny to see him also in the transforming process. Haha. His bestie was haaaaairy! But then there was more distraction for the Hufflepuff. Suddenly he started shrinking! Like WOAAAAAAAAH! The ground RUSHED up at him and instinctively his arms shot out to protect himself from landing on the ground. Of course this didn't happen.
What was happening was that he felt his now short limbs twisting and changing (slightly painfully) as the bones rearranged themselves to form an eagle's legs. Talon's formed shortly afterwards. The next thing Adi noticed were the brown and black feathers that were shooting out all about him.
He opened his mouth to comment on how incredibly cool this was but... right! He had a beak and all that came out was a high pitched and shrill whistle. All this while he had his hands, torso and face so that he looked like some freak of nature but now those even were starting to change beginning with the torso which shrank to an eagle's chest. It was now completely covered with brown feathers.
Did we mention the grinding and shifting of bones sounded horrible? It did! Adi hated the sounds. He tried to ignore them as his hands started to change. They sort of shrank inwards, their bones rearranging too and feathers taking over. The rest of his face was the last to go. His head and brain shrunk as his neck grew thinner and longer. His eye pulled back further on either sides of his bird face than they would have been on a human's.
Where seventh year Aditya Rehman once stood, there was now a Golden Eagle replacing him. His sharp talons clutched the ground, piercing eyes gleaming fiercly and sharp, hooked beak snapping a bit. He ruffled his feathers, the brown ones on his back and the golden ones at the back of his head.
OH, HEEEEEEY, BENNY! Adi was finding himself looking up at his now four legged friend.
There were two things Benny the stag noticed as the changes settled and he strove to adjust to them all. One was the fact that his eyes were now spaced out so his vision was majorly scewed. Sure he could see on either side of his head but he went almost crosseyed trying to see everything that was normal to himself as a human rather than his pheriferal vision which seemed to be normal view for a deer. The second thing was that Adi had completely disappeared from his field of view as both their transformations had went into full effect. It was only as he remembered that his friend had used a feather that the Gryffindor thought he should look down.
Easier said than done. *Adi?* He called, a weird sound escaped him instead which sent his furry ears a flutter as they caught it . Nope, he couldn't speak. His four hooves pawed the ground alternatively as the transformed 7th year struggled to get used to his tempermental balance as well as figure out moving his head and vision. Ironically antlers felt heavier on the deer head they properly belonged on than his human head when Adi got him with the proper spell during a duel. Benny tentatively bent his neck, the movement happening faster than he had attempted as the weight of the appendages made him more than a little top heavy.
How did stags move very much? What with both a heavy furry body on spindly legs and a weighted rack on top of a smaller head. Benny couldn't imagine doing it himself, especially in bad weather.
He finally got his head down far enough, his legs still pawing in place as his human mind tried to counteract the fear of falling. His line of vision adjusted down in the process and he could see the ground nearest him more clearer. Though it was only as he gingerly swung his head, antlers and all, that he finally spotted a large brown and gold bird perched on the ground...an eagle. Hello Creature!Adi...
His nostrils flared as his snout neared the transfigured eagle, the stag sniffing his friend. The loose lips of his current form moving to reveal his animal teeth but nothing coming out except maybe a heavy breath. Maybe he could manage signals like he did when he was a dragon...if the eagle eyes of the Hufflepuff could make them out. Or he could manage more flexibility with his forelegs than he could at the moment.
