"I chose one off your list," he eventually answered, taking his own two items out of his pocket. There were a few that meshed with Professor Culloden's list as well as the one he had gotten permission to do instead, the seventh year still not sure of how good he'd be changing too small. "I'll...um...try to remember that.
Even if this was HIS brewing over ADI's spellwork. Big difference.
He added the handful of brown fur from a deer into his potion, mimicing his companion. An Eagle for Adi. Benny supposed it was the closest thing to hippogriff his friend the griff lover could get with this potion. Material added, he absently nodded again, eying the vial. One cup of potion. "Alright...on the count of three," the Gryffindor stated, taking a deep breath.
"One...two....three"
Benny drank the liquid down in one quick gulp, not wanting to lose the courage to do it. Like ripping off a bandage. He made a face as he swallowed, almost feeling it clearly as it went down his throat and into his stomach, the effects of the potion spreading further through his body than the actual potion went at the moment. It felt weird....more like the canary cream than the dragon spell as it was working from the inside out it seemed. The first notable change was the appearance of nearly matching brown fur appearing along his skin and clothes with a small flush of heat as it developed and grew thicker.
With a twitch, a tail was present at his backside and as he turned to look, Benny could feel his legs develop into hocks right down until the dark hooves that were now his feet. "Oh dear..." he let out as the great tapered legs couldn't keep himself upright and he fell forward onto to find his arms had already developed into forelegs and matching hooves to catch himself on. The Gryffindor wobbled on all fours as his body filled out and his neck and head took on the appearance of a deer as well with a muzzle containing his mouth and nose up front and his ears moved up and to the back of his skull. The last change or rather addition was the tell-tale prongs of his antlers that developed and grew into a nice rack from the top of his head.
And then there was one buck by the whomping willow.
Benny chose a creature off of the his list? Hmmm... the possibilities however not endless, did give Adi a fair amount to guess at.
"Badger?" It was the number one creature on his list that he wanted Benny to be. Hehe.
"You do that,'' Adi replied now shaking his vial of potion (measured out to the appropriate amount for for no overdosing to happen) so that it swirled around. Look at the now brown liquid goooooo!
On Benny's count to three, he lifted the vial to swallow the contents. Hmmm... it didn't taste too bad.
"Tastes like raw meat,'' he had just enough time to utter. Was the meat road kill? Haha. Adi didn't know but because eagles ate raw meat as part of their diet would explain why the potion tasted like that. But why did he just have enough time to comment of the taste? Because the first change that happened to the Hufflepuff was his mouth.
It started protruding outwards and hardening at the same time. Adi's eyes widened slightly as his hands rushed up to feel the forming beak. His eyes snapped to Benny to see him also in the transforming process. Haha. His bestie was haaaaairy! But then there was more distraction for the Hufflepuff. Suddenly he started shrinking! Like WOAAAAAAAAH! The ground RUSHED up at him and instinctively his arms shot out to protect himself from landing on the ground. Of course this didn't happen.
What was happening was that he felt his now short limbs twisting and changing (slightly painfully) as the bones rearranged themselves to form an eagle's legs. Talon's formed shortly afterwards. The next thing Adi noticed were the brown and black feathers that were shooting out all about him.
He opened his mouth to comment on how incredibly cool this was but... right! He had a beak and all that came out was a high pitched and shrill whistle. All this while he had his hands, torso and face so that he looked like some freak of nature but now those even were starting to change beginning with the torso which shrank to an eagle's chest. It was now completely covered with brown feathers.
Did we mention the grinding and shifting of bones sounded horrible? It did! Adi hated the sounds. He tried to ignore them as his hands started to change. They sort of shrank inwards, their bones rearranging too and feathers taking over. The rest of his face was the last to go. His head and brain shrunk as his neck grew thinner and longer. His eye pulled back further on either sides of his bird face than they would have been on a human's.
Where seventh year Aditya Rehman once stood, there was now a Golden Eagle replacing him. His sharp talons clutched the ground, piercing eyes gleaming fiercly and sharp, hooked beak snapping a bit. He ruffled his feathers, the brown ones on his back and the golden ones at the back of his head.
OH, HEEEEEEY, BENNY! Adi was finding himself looking up at his now four legged friend.
