They could FINALLLLY try out the potion. Finally, finally! Adi had gotten eagle feathers, keen on flying with actual wings. Again he wished he could be a Hippogriff but hey, he had to make do with what he had, right? He excitedly followed Benny towards the Willow which seemed to have become their spot for that school year.
Was his bestie nervous? Yep, it seemed so. "Of course!'' Adi bounced on his feet as he retrieved his vial and feathers from his pockets. "What animal have you decided on, anyway?" He hadn't told him anything. Why so secretive, Benny? "You know...'' Adi popped open his vial. "You should just think of this as me changing you into a dragon. There were a lot more risks back when I was doing that but nothing went wrong with your potion so you'll be okay.'' He was trying to reassure Benny. Here's to hoping it worked.
The Puffer dropped his feathers into the vial. Immediately the clear potion turned brown. Excitedly he looked at Benny. "Go on. Add whatever you've got and we'll drink the potions at the same time.''
Alright...location chosen.
One step down as Benny nodded in agreement to Adi's answer. As for the question, he paused, momentarily debating what level of knowledge to give his friend. "I chose one off your list," he eventually answered, taking his own two items out of his pocket. There were a few that meshed with Professor Culloden's list as well as the one he had gotten permission to do instead, the seventh year still not sure of how good he'd be changing too small. "I'll...um...try to remember that.
Even if this was HIS brewing over ADI's spellwork. Big difference.
He added the handful of brown fur from a deer into his potion, mimicing his companion. An Eagle for Adi. Benny supposed it was the closest thing to hippogriff his friend the griff lover could get with this potion. Material added, he absently nodded again, eying the vial. One cup of potion. "Alright...on the count of three," the Gryffindor stated, taking a deep breath. "One...two....three"
Benny drank the liquid down in one quick gulp, not wanting to lose the courage to do it. Like ripping off a bandage. He made a face as he swallowed, almost feeling it clearly as it went down his throat and into his stomach, the effects of the potion spreading further through his body than the actual potion went at the moment. It felt weird....more like the canary cream than the dragon spell as it was working from the inside out it seemed. The first notable change was the appearance of nearly matching brown fur appearing along his skin and clothes with a small flush of heat as it developed and grew thicker. Itchiness soon followed and the hairy human tried vainly to scratch at it but it was useless. There was too much as his body was growing covered with the fur of his creature.
With a twitch or two, a tail was present at his backside and as he turned to look at the brown and white fluffy shape, Benny could feel his legs develop into hocks, the limbs thickening at his thighs and thinning down his lower leg until the hard dark hooves that were now his feet. "Oh dear..." he let out as the great tapered legs couldn't keep himself upright even as half human and he fell forward he tried to catch himself. However as he landed on two more hooves, it was clear his arms were already developing into forelegs. His shoulders and elbows shifting into the more appropriate direction to be quadrupedal.
The Gryffindor wobbled on all fours as his body filled out becoming far more bulkier in both body and fur. Then his neck thickened and lengthened to move his head back up to an upright position. The latter finally took on the appearance of a deer as well with a muzzle containing his mouth and nose up front and his ears moved up and to the back of his skull. The last change or rather addition was the tell-tale prongs of his antlers that developed and grew into a nice rack from the top of his head.
And then there was one full grown buck standing nearly still and upright by the whomping willow.
