Come on, really? Do they really have to trade? The seventh year was sure half, if not most students inside the classroom were sceptical about the idea. See? Even Head Boy Adair was being precocious which was not typical of a Gryffindor, if he may add.
Ethan was lost in his thoughts when a younger student almost shoved his tie in his face. Well at least, he was a Ravenclaw. Josie belonged to that house so it was cool...but, he wasn’t Josie so he still has reservations about handing over his tie to the unknown kid. Eyeing the boy's nametag, “It's a pleasure to meet you too...Moore.” Ethan said dryly, and got the Ravenclaws’ tie from his hand. " I'm Ethan Mordaunt. I s'pose we're partners now?" he asked as he raised the boy's blue tie.
The seventh year looked from the professor to the newcomer as he tried to come up with a plausible solution to this...trade thing. “You reckon we can get away with the trading of ties using the colour changing spell?” Ethan murmured to Austin as he tapped his finger against his desk. Quigley has taught them last term pretty well, and he was sure that everyone, except the first years, still remembers it.
"I honestly don't care what you do, just don't get my house points taken away, and please don't ruin my tie." The last thing he wanted right now was to have a ruined tie. His father had enough to worry about than go to Diagon Alley to get him a new one. And sure he had another tie in his trunk, but you can't wear one tie all year. Gross.
Austin leaned back in his chair wishing with all his might that they could all just leave. Yes, classes were important in becoming 'great and powerful witches and wizards'. But today was not his day, and all he wanted to do was go back to bed.
"And I suppose we are... Mordaunt."
As the new professor introduced themselves, and now they had to write a paragraph? Where was the magic? The hands on? This new professor was not on Austin's good list today.
Austin knew the answer to the questions that the professor was asking, but to be honest, he was in such a sour mood that he wasn't going to answer any of them. He'd probably be really snide, and rude and that would just lose them house points. If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all, right?
